Job Summary:
The Internal Agency Surgical Technologist- Certified functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse. Assists the health care team in providing safe, age-appropriate and culturally aware patient care. He/she has knowledge, skill and ability to perform duties within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases (with an expectation on occasion to work above this level as cases require) as defined by the scope of anatomy, equipment and instrumentation of the case and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team. Exhibits an acquisition of additional surgical skills for progressively more difficult cases. Demonstrates an efficient, organized surgical plan for assigned cases. Takes initiative to discuss surgical plan with other members of the healthcare team. Able to troubleshoot instruments and equipment. Anticipates any additional supplies or equipment required for procedures. Ability to mentor, precept, or train in various modalities. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparation of the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe patient care environment while being vigilant for the maintenance of the sterile field and other patient safety concerns. In addition, they will gather required instruments, supplies, and serve as surgical assistant as needed. (not to be confused with a certified surgical first assistant). Other duties as assigned including but not limited to assisting with inventory, ordering, and stocking ORs and additional perioperative areas as assigned. Also, ensure that the unit is always compliant with Joint Commission standards. Call or late coverage may be required related to the facility in which the ST is working. Certified Surgical Technologist- required to have a certificate or associate's degree from a community college or a technical school and have passed the competency examination through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
He/she has the knowledge, skill and ability of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team within moderate to high difficulty surgical cases as defined by the scope of anatomy, equipment, and instrumentation of the case. a) Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure which includes review and utilization of appropriate preference card. b) Assists with room set-up to include opening of sterile supplies. c) Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medication/solutions needed for procedure in an accurate, aseptically prioritized and timely manner, including reviewing and utilizing appropriate preference cards d) Performs appropriate surgical counts with circulator. e) Actively participates in the procedure pause/time-out. f) Scrubs, gowns and gloves; Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. g) Assists in draping sterile field. h) Passes instruments to surgeon during the procedure. Maintains an organized back table and operative field. Able to anticipate and offer surgeon suggestions throughout the procedure for facilitating cases i) Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure. j) Prepares sterile dressings. k) Actively participates in post procedure pause which includes accounting for proper handling of the specimens. l) Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization, taking initiative to inform SPD of critical need instrument m) Applies principles of asepsis to ensure the prevention of infection and safety of patients and employees n) Prepares case carts according to procedure and preference cards. Reviews surgical schedule and assists clinical coordinator with preparation for future cases o) Observes patients condition and immediately reports any changes or significant findings to the physician and Registered Nurse. p) Proactively plans for the next steps in the progression of procedure as needed, demonstrating an ability to adjust without faltering when an emergency arises q) Performs with the knowledge, skill, and ability within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases r) Prepares OR room and other areas (as needed) for receiving patients, which includes stocking, cleaning equipment or storage areas, turns OR room over, orders/requests supplies, preparing instruments for future procedures, notification of specialty staff regarding needed instrumentation or equipment. s) Maintains a financial stewardship related to supplies and equipment, only opening required supplies until requested by the surgeon. Assists the health care team in providing safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patient care a. Provides relationship-based patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics (e.g. age, gender, disease, etc) in a manner that adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity under supervision of the registered nurse b. Always partners with the patient by verifying procedure and conducting relief bedside shift report. c. Practices using current clinical practice standards under the supervision of the registered nurse d. • Has the knowledge and ability to order radioisotopes needed to complete workflow for the day and in preparation for the next day’s schedule.

This Float Pool Patient Care Tech/CNA opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient flexible schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Communicates with RN preceptor, as appropriate, about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Must be willing to float to all units.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
* Consistently completes hourly rounds; 5 P's : pain, potty, position, periphery and alerting the RN to issues with the IV pump. C.N.A rounds with purpose including pro-actively evaluating the environment to ensure it is patient friendly and patient safe. Updates communication board when rounding complete.
* Performs patient care responsibilities considering the needs specific to the standard of care for the patient's age; pediatric, geriatric, and the general population.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Tech II assists with providing direct patient care, possessing an intermediate level of understanding of the behaviors of clients with substance use and mental health disorders, and displaying an ability to interact in a therapeutic manner.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CAT required, or must be actively pursuing and have completed 25% of CAT certification requirements.
- QMAP required, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- CPR certification required.
- 1+ year of residential behavioral health experience required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (in order to be eligible to drive company vehicles when required).

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with admits by following all steps and protocols of orientation, including conducting searches and cataloging of personal items.
- Assist in searches, inspections, checks, and investigations as part of treatment procedures.
- Align and operate within the Medical and Clinical team’s treatment plan for each client.
- Communicate and collaborate with supervisors and clinicians regarding client issues and notable progress.
- Identify emergency signals and situations and respond appropriately.
- Document client notes in appropriate systems.
- Ensure client engagement in programming and activities.
- Provide activity and appointment transportation for clients.
- Administer Urinalysis (UA) or Breath Alcohol (BA) tests as needed and document appropriately.
- Carry out CIWA, COWS and Vitals.
- Complete routine checks.
- Monitor and/or administer medications, answer questions regarding medications and use discretion with PRN requests.
- Conduct medication counts.
- Facilitate client group sessions and ensure proper documentation.
- Act as mentor to new staff who are learning and shadowing.
- Participate in shift exchange, discussing any pertinent changes in the clients’ status (clinical, medical, behavioral, etc.).
- Create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and client-focused treatment environment by using therapeutic skills.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, HIPAA, and 42CFR Part 2 compliance.
- Adhere to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, and accrediting agency regulations and standards.
