PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Special Activities and Intelligence (SAI) Program in our Operational Warfighting (OPS) Division at CNA is hiring for a part-time Research Scientist. Staff at this level will typically be leading smaller and/or less complex projects, playing a critical role as a team member on projects with specific technical/scientific expertise. For this role we are looking for people that have extensive experience in AI and ML.
The SAI program conducts analyses that help decision-makers integrate information, intelligence, and exquisite effects into fleet operations. CNA has played an active role in the reconstruction of real-world incidents, assessment of the employment of operational teams, and the extraction of operational value from intelligence feeds. We also support efforts to integrate artificial intelligence and autonomous capabilities, crafting policies and procedures to guide their development and bridging the technology gap between defense and industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND/OR DUTIES
1. Routinely produces analysis on structured and unstructured problems that meets CNA's quality standards with limited direction and general supervision. Demonstrates ability to develop and apply creative and innovative analytic solutions to complex problems with assistance/support from more senior staff. Shows the ability to synthesize analytic results into a broader context. Can lead complex analytic projects with supervision. Begins to make connections and synthesize ideas across multiple, related studies.
2. Develops and maintains deep, specific institutional knowledge and expertise of primary clients/sponsors; their culture, organization, and issues. Uses that knowledge to support training & mentoring of new staff, to support on-going work, and to support development and shaping of new work for existing clients/ sponsors.
3. Balances responsiveness to guidance with independent action. Contributes productively and harmoniously to the work of others; treats everyone respectfully, professionally and fairly. Independently identifies opportunities for collaboration within team, division, and operating unit. Supports supervisor's initiatives and helps make vision a reality. Recognizes and acknowledges contributions from subordinates.
4. Supports business development efforts and/or marketing activities by interacting with CNA managers and current clients/sponsors on securing follow on work (e.g., small grants, or above core projects), expanding or developing new ideas for future projects, and occasionally working with potential clients/sponsors on developing new project ideas. Occasionally serves as internal reviewer of technical proposals.
5. Interacts regularly and independently with clients/sponsors and related parties. Typical interactions are at the "peer equivalent" level, but some level of interaction at senior level. Can effectively represent CNA as an organization.
6. Influences decisions by sponsors/ clients; provide sponsors/clients with implementable recommendations. Occasionally supports efforts to enhance CNA's reputation via publishing and outreach activities.
7. Demonstrates strong and effective communications skills, to include ability to summarize and synthesize larger pieces of work into effective executive summaries/executive briefings. Can effectively present work to more senior and larger audiences. Effectively communicates with & engages colleagues at all levels of the organization.
8. Works under limited direction and general supervision from division management. Can lead projects of low to medium size and/or complexity, as well as significant tasks on large or more complex projects. Effectively manages all aspects of assigned projects, to include delivery of high-quality analytic products on-time, and on-budget.
9. Plays a supporting role in the mentoring and training of new staff individually or as a member of a project team. Regularly demonstrates initiative in pursuing improvements in the quality of our projects and analytic products. Participates in corporate initiatives when asked to do so, and makes contributions to initiatives focused on making CNA a better place to work.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Education: Minimum Master's degree in a relevant field (STEM), PhD preferred.
2. Experience: Typical minimum requirements 5+ years of experience in research and analysis. Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and applications preferred. Experience with Navy and AI-related organizations and processes preferred.
3. Skills:
- Ability to work on progressively more difficult projects/analyses, including directing portions of large research projects or small to medium projects under general supervision
- Ability to operate independently and proactively in the execution of assignments; Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is around $73.00 - $81.25 hourly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conduct scheduled patrols throughout the Museum buildings and exterior, including non-museum property surrounding the premises, on foot, by golf cart, or bicycle for officers with bike patrol certification. (Ex. parking lots, surrounding grounds.)
o To guard and protect persons and property for conditions that could lead to loss of life or property.
o Inspect buildings for open doors or windows, damage, safety hazards, and faulty mechanical problems.
* Report all pertinent data of actions taken or observations gathered during premises tours, in writing and/or verbally as directed.
* Ensure compliance with Museum's policies by conveying rules and safety regulations to the public and staff as needed.
* Effectively use radio communication to clearly and concisely communicate with other officers and relevant staff.
* Monitor the surveillance system from the control room and coordinate officer responses to alarms/incidents.
* Provide excellent customer service to the public and museum staff in giving directions and answering questions by leading with a pleasant and approachable demeanor.
* Assist other officers as needed to minimize response time, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of service to the public and staff during times of need.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities:
* First Aid: Administer first-aid to visitors and staff. Requires the ability to kneel and bend down to assist. Notify 911 if necessary.
* CPR: Notify 911 and administer CPR to visitors or staff when appropriate. Requires the ability to kneel and bend down to assist. Must maintain CPR certification.
* Fire Safety: Notify 911, ensure the safe evacuation of visitors and staff, notify Engineering staff, and safely monitor the situation until the danger has cleared. Use extinguishers if safe and appropriate to do so. May conduct annual monthly checks of extinguishers, assist, escort and direct fire safety personnel, and set up and escort Halon system checks.
* Maintain the office dispatch book with up-to-date materials and maps.
* Work the garage ticket booth when St. Louis parking is not available.
* Be flexible to assist the team in addressing the needs of the staff and/or public. This may include performing the duties of a Dispatcher or Gallery Attendant.
* The department is a 24/7 operation, including night shifts. Security officers may be required to work overtime and/or cover additional shifts.
Special Notes:
Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background check and drug screening in accordance with the Professional Licensing Rules and Procedures of the St. Louis County Police Department.
* After obtaining the proper license, Security officers are considered the first responders of the Museum, and have the power to arrest and detain in incidents occurring on SLAM property. These powers are in effect only while on duty and on the premises that you are paid to protect.
* Security officers are required to carry aerosol pepper spray while on duty. All officers must be certified to do so by attending an approved pepper spray training course. All security officers carry handcuffs in order to detain as required.
* Officers will be periodically required to train for the following: Traffic-control, active shooter, general safety.
* Officers may be posted outside after dark, with or without other officers present. Outside posts are required of all officers, including during inclement weather.
This is a physically active position that may require the following:
* Must be able to stand for up to four hours at a time. Time will vary based on tour of duty as assigned for such shift.
* Ability to kneel and bend down to assist injured parties.
* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
* Must patrol the building campus. (A tour averages 3 miles.)
* Adequate strength and agility to detain and/or restrain in the event of emergent situations involving violent, agitated, or aggressively threatening persons.
* Ability to quickly and safely respond in the event of an emergency (i.e. run or jog).
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes being available to work evenings/overnights, weekends and some holidays. Must obtain and keep current a valid Security Officer License in the City of Saint Louis. Must know (or learn) and use proper radio procedures, computer skills, alarm systems, and emergency procedures. Must maintain a neat, and well-groomed appearance due to close customer interactions throughout the day. Must be dedicated to duties as required and assigned, possess sound judgement and discretion, while leading with integrity. Must provide oral and/or written reports in a clear manner. Must complete CPR/AED certification. Attendance must be reliable and punctual.
Preferred Experience: Some college coursework. Prior experience as a security or law enforcement officer.
Additional Information
Shift: Varies by scheduling need.
* 1st Shift - 7:30 AM to 4 PM
* 2nd Shift - 3:30 PM to midnight
* 3rd Shift - 11:30 PM to 8 AM
Days off: Varies by scheduling need. Part-timers work 3 shifts per week.
Minimum of Pay Range: $19.54/hour; commensurate with experience

Jazz Power Initiative is an Inwood-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives and communities through jazz. Grounded in Black American music and culture, JPI produces intergenerational arts education programs, performances, and community initiatives that serve uptown neighborhoods including Inwood, Washington Heights, and Harlem.

The Jazz Power Program Assistant is a community-facing role supporting JPI’s programs through outreach, marketing, and on-the-ground program support. Practices as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team responsible for the provision of medical nutrition therapy. Compensation: This is a Fee for Service (W2) position, the range for this position is $65,000-$94,000 per year based on 15-20 clinical hours per week.
To maintain safety and best practices for our clinicians and patients via telemedicine, Thriveworks does not push or incentivize the use of stimulant medications; instead, we offer them as an option based on the client’s specific symptoms and diagnosis, with prescribing decisions left to the discretion of the clinician. We do not currently treat substance use disorders, and make every effort to refer out to an in-person provider when symptoms arise that are too severe to be treated via telemedicine only.

The Trauma Registrar Senior will be responsible for assistance in maintaining the CHRISTUS Health Care System's Trauma Registry in compliance with all requirements of the Department of State Health Services, as outlined in the State Trauma Rules.
The Trauma Registry is critical to the development and maintenance of an effective performance improvement program for trauma.
The Trauma Registry also provides data needed for research and epidemiological studies.
Responsibilities: Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Provides clerical, statistical and informational support to the Trauma Service.
Maintains a database to allow for easy retrieval of trauma statistics.
Accurately identifying trauma patients, abstracting requisite data, and entering them into the trauma registry based on trauma inclusion criteria.
The ability to perform ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AIS) coding.
Updates and maintains all trauma registry records including essential elements as defined by trauma center leadership, State Designating Department, National Trauma Data Standards, and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) as indicated based on trauma center level of designation.
Demonstrates proficiency in capturing and entering data that contributes to accurate calculations of ISS, Trauma Score, TRISS, Probability of Survival Score; GCS, ICD/AIS coding, among others.
Completes record abstraction, entry, and validation, in compliance with American College of Surgeons (ACS), State Designating Department, and the current policies and practices of the Trauma Program.
Completes data uploads to regional, state, and national registries as required by State Designating Department and the ACS.
Performs queries and reports from the Trauma Registry as requested.
Responsible for Trauma Registry Data base management and promptly communicates data base related issues to the Trauma Program leadership.
Analyses trauma registry data for epidemiological and reporting purposes.
Communicates trends that may impact Trauma Program performance, injury prevention initiatives, or staffing to the Trauma Program leadership.
Maintains confidentiality of written and verbal communication.
Maintains confidentiality of autopsy reports, mortality and morbidity data, performance improvement activities and peer review data.
Prepares, distributes, and files reports, correspondence, and documents in the correct format including referral feedback letters to EMS and referring hospitals, per trauma center protocols.
Responsible for precepting new registry staff.
Participates in trauma-related activities within their Regional Advisory Council, as requested.
Participates in ongoing education regarding TQIP, if applicable, and other trauma related topics.
Consistently promotes a professional image in demeanor, appearance, attitude, and behaviors.
Supports Trauma Program initiatives such as injury prevention, outreach, and education as directed.
