Job Details Job Duties: Manage full California workers' compensation defense caseload from inception through resolution.
Appear before the WCAB for MSCs, Status Conferences, Expedited Hearings, and Trials.
Take and defend depositions of applicants, physicians, and expert witnesses.
Draft and file Petitions, DORs, Answers, Motions, and Trial Briefs.
Prepare and respond to written discovery and subpoenas.
Develop litigation strategy and evaluate exposure.
Negotiate settlements including Compromise and Release and Stipulations with Request for Award.
Provide regular status reports and case analysis to clients.
Ensure compliance with California Labor Code and WCAB procedural deadlines.
Meet a monthly billable target of 250 hours.
What We Are Looking For Minimum 3 to 5+ years of California workers' compensation experience on the defense side.
Experience with insurance claims, subrogation, civil litigation, or liens is a plus, but not required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and function effectively in a fast paced environment.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
