As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. A large client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead operations at a closed-door specialty pharmacy. This individual needs to have experience with USP (797) Sterile Compounding, as well as proven management experience including overseeing staff and pharmacy operations. Job description
This position requires the performance of all technical duties of a pharmacy technician. The employee will work under the direct legal supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacist manager. The position requires the ability to make critical decisions, facilitate stakeholder conflict resolution, work independently with minimal supervision, and solve problems. - Coordinates the effective operation of the technician workflow within the department.
- Participates in the quality assurance, performance improvement, and administrative activities of the department.
- Works in conjunction with the pharmacy supervisor to enforce all accountability standards outlined in current policies and procedures.
- Implements pharmacy objectives as determined by the pharmacy supervisory team.

Job Summary

β’ Identification and differentiation of various types of medication orders (Scheduled, PRN, Once, STAT, NOW).
β’ Ability to appropriately label all medication dosage forms including auxiliary labels for expiration and storage as required.

Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician III assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician III follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
- Experience: 3 years hospital pharmacy experience or equivalent experience required.
- Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work.
- This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
- Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to function in a variety of roles and settings in the pharmacy department.
- Ability to perform initial trouble shooting for automated pharmacy technology and associated software.
- Ability to interpret standard medical information, lab values, other pertinent information in order to compile the necessary information for pharmacist judgement, prior authorization or other patient care use.
- Demonstrates mastery of all pharmacy dispensing and standard compounding procedures.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge and use of all equipment; robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets as appropriate.

The pharmacist provides comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in central and decentral areas. * Retail
* Performs outpatient distributive functions related to entering prescriptions orders, selecting the correct medications for new and refilled prescription orders, and coordinates delivery of medications for patient pick-up or delivery.
Clinical Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective drug therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
* Reads, extracts and interprets information in patient medical records accurately.
* Detects and reports suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
* Sustains the hospital drug formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic substitution protocols and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
* Provides accurate, adequate and timely drug information to the hospital's pharmacy associates.
* Coordinates pharmacist drug education to patients and their families per institutional protocol.
* Participates in the quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department.
Collects data, conducts monitors and inspections and maintains logs, records and other documentation as assigned.
* Conducts designated interventions as defined in department Clinical Intervention activities (IV to PO, Renal Dosing, Pharmacokinetic dosing support, Anticoagulation)
* Baseline departmental standards for reporting interventions for clinical productivity as defined by departmental goals.

* Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required
* Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
* ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours); or meet minimum State requirement.
Not applicable to Ambulatory Care settings or Retail settings In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
