Position Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus


Responsibilities:

  • Driving a Zero-Defect Culture and leading quality strategy for the Advanced Materials (ADMAT) Division
  • Managing laboratory operations (A&QC labs)
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS quality standards
  • Leading internal, customer, and 3rd-party audits
  • Lead initiatives to ensure zero-defect manufacturing performance.
  • Promote and strengthen a continuous improvement culture across the site.
  • Build strong customer partnerships and support customer complaint resolution.
  • Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System.
  • Ensure site-wide compliance with ISO 9001 and AS standards.
  • Oversee site quality documentation and perform annual management reviews.
  • Laboratory & Technical Oversight
  • Manage A&QC lab operations and ensure testing accuracy and safety.
  • Provide statistical analysis guidance, including SPC/SQC and materials statistical equivalency.
  • Support aerospace-related product qualifications.
  • Audit & Compliance Leadership
  • Lead: Internal audits, customer audits, and third‑party certification audits
  • Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Quality Issue Resolution
  • Investigate internal and external quality incidents, often with incomplete data.
  • Drive timely resolution of customer complaints.
  • Serve on the Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Team Leadership: Manage, develop, and mentor chemists and quality team members.
  • Oversee staffing, talent management, and professional development.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Chemistry, Engineering, or related field); Higher education is a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a quality management background
  • Experience working with a QMS system
  • Analytical chemistry
  • Laboratory operations
  • ISO 9001
  • Statistical tools (SPC/SQC)
  • Lean or Six Sigma certifications are preferred

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is ready to jump in and learn the business and gain valuable hands on experience to join our team in Palermo NY as a Plant Manger in Training.Β 


Shift: 6am to 3pm (hours could vary based on business needs)Β 

Pay: 55k to 65k depending on experience


The Plant Manager in Training role is a great opportunity designed to prepare an individual for the role of a Plant Manager in the pallet industry. This unique opportunity will allow for the individual to learn the business and gain hands on experience in all aspects of plant operations including safety, production, maintenance, inventory and team leadership. The Plant Manager in Training will work closely with other managers and leadership to learn operational standards, maximize productivity, optimize resources, and drive continuous improvement across all production lines while continuing to build strong employee engagement on the plant floor.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn the flow of product from start to finish and gain an understanding of all machines, processes and cut sheets needed for each item
  • Learn and support daily plant operations including the plan for the day, production schedules, workflow and staffing
  • Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures and lead by example to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Assist in monitoring key performance indicators such as cut times, productivity, quality, on time deliveries and waste
  • Partner with leadership to address performance issues and develop team membersΒ 
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training and employee engagement initiatives
  • Support inventory control, material flow and cost management efforts
  • Learn to read and understand the plant P&L and identify successes and areas of opportunity
  • identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Assist in customer issue resolutions and ensure product quality standards are met

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and improve assembly and test processes for electronic and mechanical products.
  • Collaborate with design engineering on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.
  • Specify, design, and implement jigs, fixtures, and production tooling to improve assembly consistency and ergonomics.
  • Conduct time studies, process capability analysis, and workflow optimization to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead or support NPI (New Product Introduction) builds and establish process documentation (work instructions, routings, BOM validation).
  • Monitor and resolve manufacturing issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or yield problems.
  • PC board development activities including item master generation, PCB drawing creation, SMD stencil drawings, prototype board request management, PCB assembly pack, and change management.
  • Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with suppliers for tooling, components, and process support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly environments.
  • Experience introducing new products to production and creating supporting documentation.
  • Proficiency with MCAD and ECAD tools (SolidWorks / Altium preferred) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process control, and failure analysis techniques.
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude with a passion for precision assembly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork across production, design, and quality teams.
  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship aligned with McIntosh’s premium brand standards.
  • Self-motivated and organized, capable of driving projects independently.
