Labor Employment Associate
Job Description
Our client, a top 20 AM Law firm, is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its San Diego office.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded and growing Labor & Employment Practice Group, working on a broad mix of complex employment litigation, traditional labor matters, and employment counseling. The team is known for its collaborative, cross-office approach and strong reputation in handling sophisticated workplace matters.
This role is ideal for an associate looking to gain exposure to high-stakes litigation and advisory work within a dynamic and well-established national platform.
Responsibilities
- Handle a range of employment litigation matters, including:
- Class and representative actions
- Single-plaintiff employment claims
- Support and advise on traditional labor law matters
- Provide employment counseling to clients on workplace issues
- Conduct legal research, drafting, and case strategy development
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters
- Assist with case management, discovery, and motion practice
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Labor & Employment or complex litigation experience
- Experience with employment litigation defense preferred
- Exposure to class actions, representative actions, or traditional labor law is a plus
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-office environment
- Excellent academic credentials required
- Order of the Coif, law review, or clerkship experience is a plus
