Job Highlights The Neurosurgery Acute Care Unit (NACU) is a 25-bed acute care unit that provides care for general neurology and post-surgical neurosurgery patients.
Our NACU team also provides specialized care for patients with neurological disorders, including epilepsy, myasthenia gravis (MG), Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), encephalopathy, and multiple sclerosis (MS), as well as patients recovering from strokes and brain or spinal surgeries UAB Neurology and Neurosurgery is consistently ranked among the top 50 programs of its kind nationally by U.S.

Job Description To utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention of illness and injury.
Using a systematic critical-thinking approach to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation of human responses to actual and potential health problems through activities such as health teaching, health counseling and the provision of care supportive and restorative of life and supportive of a peaceful death.
To identify patient needs using the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Synergy Model.
To delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care provided to the patient, their family and our community in a timely and cost-effective manner.
To deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, their family and all members of the health care team and with the knowledge of a licensed physician, psychologist, podiatrist, and/or dentist.
Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized. This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies. The Multi-Modality Technologist must routinely work within a minimum of two qualifying modalities as directed by department managers/supervisors to meet the specific needs of the department. Performs all duties relating to the specific primary an d post primary imaging modalities in which they are working. This includes Diagnostic, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. Mammography & Bone Densitometry.
What qualifications you will need:
- Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) program.
- Required License: ARRT registered and hold post primary certification in a minimum of 1 additional qualifying discipline in which exams will be performed in the role of Multi-Modality Technologist OR must obtain registry and have current certification on credentialing website for specified imaging modality within specific timeframe as follows; a. CT 6-9 months, b. Mammography 12 months, c. MRI 12-18 months Completes requirements for CEU for re-certification. BLS certified.

Marymount Hospital's Adult Behavioral Health Center offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency programs. Some of the services provided include inpatient care, medication management, structured therapeutic programming, scheduled recreational activities, nutrition and medication management, and access to community resources for ongoing support. This team works collaboratively to foster a safe, team-oriented environment.
As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. * Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
* Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
* One-year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
* Will consider licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
* Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
* Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
* Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
* Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
* Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Marymount Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) consists of 28 beds in two connected 14-bed pods and was designed for high acuity patients who need critical care and are being treated for serious medical conditions. Some of the most common procedures in this unit include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia.

Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital's 3 South nursing unit is an 18-bed observation unit with 8 private patient rooms. The unit is dedicated to providing care to adult patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including respiratory disorders, anemia, and altered mental status, with a focus on cardiac disorders such as heart failure and arrhythmias. Marymount Hospital's 4 South nursing unit is a 16-bed general medical unit with 8 private patient rooms. Typical nursing care for both units includes IV access, phlebotomy, medication administration, patient education, wound care, IV therapy, and blood product administration .

Position Highlights:
- Position: RN Patient Care Navigator ? Stroke Program
- Location: Evanston Hospital
- Part Time: 24 hours/week
- Hours: 2 x 12-hour shifts ? 7:00AM-7:00PM during the week
What you will do:
- Renders professional nursing care to assist physician and APP providers in managing the care of patients who present with signs and symptoms of acute stroke. Skilled in treating deteriorating and emergent patient conditions. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patient conditions, recognizes deviations, implements appropriate treatment protocols for specific emergencies, evaluates patient response, records observations, and interventions, assists with transport to emergency testing and transfer to higher level of care as indicated. Collaborates with stroke coordinator and neurosciences team to ensure care delivery meets comprehensive stroke center standards. Delivers education and serves as a resource for patients diagnosed with stroke and their care partners.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum three years of RN acute care experience in the treatment of stroke patients
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS Certification issued by American Heart Association
- Current National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:
- Minimum five years of RN critical care experience
- Experience delivering care to patients diagnosed with acute stroke
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during stressful circumstances
- Strong communication skills
