This exempt position will report directly to the Technical Services Manager. This position is responsible for the supervision and performance of the electrical team; ensuring reliable operations of the existing equipment and systems while ensuring cost-effective maintenance is being performed.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Supervise, assist in planning and executing all corrective, preventive and predictive electrical maintenance tasks for the Aggregate Plant, Primary System and Quarry at the Pennsuco facility, based on engineered maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and runtime.
  • Regular maintenance, inspections and evaluations of all power distribution, motor control, instrumentation, PLC & automation/control systems.
  • Evaluate and implement necessary power distribution and motor control infrastructure upgrades or enhancements to ensure reliable operation.
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of a calendar-based preventive maintenance program.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex industrial equipment and systems.
  • Acquire and allocate resources (internal and external parts, labor and tools) as required to support planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and promote strict adherence to all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of the Electrical Maintenance Technicians through coaching, counseling, and communicating job expectations.
  • Train new employees as required and cross-train existing employees to support day-to-day operations and vacancies.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain MSHA Surface Electrical license within 18 months.
  • 5 years’ minimum experience in a mining or plant electrical leadership role required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and reasoning skills; strong supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and CFR 30 Part 56 regulatory documents.
  • Experience with power distribution systems up to 13.8 kV required, up to 230KV a plus.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance management of electrical equipment related to a large industrial facility, such as MCCs, VFDs, transformers, power lines, large AC and DC motors, DC generators, etc.
  • Ability to interpret and create ladder logic diagrams, logic diagrams, process flow diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite and MS Project. CMMS experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of root cause analysis methodology
  • Safety conscious work ethic for the protection of self and all others in the work area.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of limestone quarry operations is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees and contractors engaged in the operation and maintenance of natural gas handling facilities and related equipment. 

  • Ensure the safe reliable and efficient operation of natural gas production and transmission facilities and equipment. 

  • Monitor and inspect job sites facilities and databases to ensure company procedures are followed and that compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local state and federal regulatory requirements. 

  • Maintain a proactive planning and scheduling process to effectively utilize manpower and complete tasks within the time schedules established. 

  • Develop implement and monitor budgets for O&M and Capital Projects. 

  • Manage projects (e.g. generate prioritize schedule scope estimate requisition materials contract track and document). 

  • Communicate across varied disciplines to complete tasks and resolve issues/act as a liaison with public officials' landowners' regulatory personnel contractors and company employees. 

  • Train evaluates and coach direct reports to enhance job performance and ensure qualification to perform required tasks. 

  • Participate in facility audits and issue resolution. 

  • Administer and adhere to company policies and the union contract.

Qualifications

Minimum 9 years of work experience in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction of natural gas transmission and storage facilities or related work experience in the Operation, Maintenance & Construction of power plants (natural gas, coal or nuclear) OR,

Minimum 7 years of work experience in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction of natural gas transmission and storage facilities or related work experience in the Operation, Maintenance & Construction of power plants (natural gas, coal or nuclear) and an associate degree in a related field OR,

Minimum 5 years of work experience in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction of natural gas transmission and storage facilities or related work experience in the Operation, Maintenance & Construction of power plants (natural gas, coal or nuclear) and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Knowledge of and experience in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction of natural gas transmission and storage facilities.

  • Specific experience with these types of facilities and their related ancillary equipment; natural gas transmission pipelines, compressor stations, storage wells and measurement & regulation stations.

  • Understanding and experience with the implementation of company policies/procedures and compliance with applicable regulations pertinent to the position (i.e. DOT, OSHA, FERC, OQ, environmental, etc.).

  • Understanding of budgeting (capital and O & M) and purchasing (material procurement, service and equipment contracting, etc.) processes.

  • Ability to effectively supervise a diverse work group.

  • Proven planning, organizing and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to communicate across a broad range of disciplines to develop rapport, synergies and effective relationships.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of logical problem analysis to facilitate the development of solutions and options to resolve problems.

What You Will Do

  • Receive job assignments and special instructions from the supervisor.

  • Escalate issues such as unresolved repairs, safety concerns, and part availability.

  • Follow safety standards including electrical safety, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, confined space, and fall protection.

  • Perform diagnostic, troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment up to 480V.

  • Troubleshoot and repair various equipment including robots, CNC machinery, paint systems, chemical processing lines, shotpeen machines, test equipment, and grinders.

  • Maintain facility areas in a functional and clean condition.

  • Update and report on preventive maintenance tasks, noting any issues or improvements needed.

  • Use test equipment to diagnose maintenance issues.

  • Build, fabricate, or modify equipment as needed, including welding.

  • Install and move machinery and equipment as directed.

  • Operate PIVs like forklifts, golf carts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

  • Report equipment problems to the supervisor and order necessary materials and parts.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; clean up after completing tasks or shifts.

  • Notify the operator/area supervisor and maintenance supervisor upon completing assignments.

  • Attend training and meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Retrieve items from the tool crib and complete necessary forms.

  • Turn in removed parts as required.

  • Provide detailed updates on completed or in-process work to peers and supervisors.

  • Experience in CNC machining, electrical circuits and controls, PLC logic, automation, rigging, fabrication, lubrication, mechanical components and systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and tooling.

  • Experience with CMMS to receive, complete, and document repairs/PMs/parts used as needed to ensure a complete equipment history and service records.

  • Experience, in a similar industrial environment that includes high voltage installation and troubleshooting, engineering, or related technical field.
