The Role
You'll own a project from mobilization through final punch list. That means you're the one making the
calls on crew deployment, schedule sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and daily production
targets. You report to the Project Manager, but the field is yours.
Day-to-day, you'll
βΈ Plan and manage daily field operations across concrete paving, earthwork, grading, and/or utility
installation
βΈ Coordinate crews, subcontractors, material deliveries, and inspectors to keep the schedule moving
βΈ Read and interpret plans, specs, and IDOT standards β and catch problems before they become
change orders
βΈ Enforce quality control, safety compliance, and environmental requirements on-site
βΈ Maintain accurate daily reports, quantities, and as-built documentation

What We're Looking For
Required:
βΈ 5+ years of experience supervising heavy civil construction (highway, DOT, or municipal
infrastructure)
βΈ Proven ability to independently manage a project site β schedule, budget, crews, and subs
βΈ Strong working knowledge of IDOT specifications, prevailing wage requirements, and public sector
project controls
βΈ Ability to read and interpret civil plans, profiles, cross-sections, and grading plans
βΈ OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
βΈ Valid driver's license with clean record, CDL preferred.

Project Overview:
As part of the Hampton Roads Connector Partners (HRCP) Joint Venture (JV) consisting of VINCI Construction, Dragados, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build project β the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9-mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45β diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America. The project is expected to continue to the beginning of 2027.
Responsibilities:
As the Tunnel Interior Structure Construction Manager for the $3.3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia, you will lead and carry out construction processes in accordance with the direction, policies, and objectives set by the Tunnel Construction Manager.
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead Superintendents in construction activities on the site β including planning, preparation, and execution. Secondary duties of this position are to assist the Tunnel Construction Manager in the completion of all construction activities of the affiliate.

APH Marine Construction is a growing marine contractor specializing in coastal infrastructure projects, seawalls, docks, and boat lifts for residential, commercial, and multi-family properties. Internship Description
The construction management internship positions provide students with an introduction to the road construction business. Internships are available in estimating or project management departments. Overview:
Comfort Systems USA is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Special Projects Estimator & Project Manager to support our growing Service Department in Roanoke, VA. This position will be responsible for estimating and managing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) construction projects, typically exceeding $25K up to $2MM in value. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Account Managers and internal departments to deliver timely, accurate estimates and ensure smooth execution from pre-construction through project completion.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Account Managers to estimate and review MEP service projects valued over $25K.
- Submit estimates exceeding $50K to the General Manager for final review.
- Prepare and submit all estimates and documentation to the Special Projects Department Manager.
- Interpret construction specifications, review drawings, and submit pre-bid inquiries.
- Develop mechanical estimates using approved estimating software and tools.
- Input and track project data in Sales Management software (North Boundary).
- Organize and archive all project-related documentation for internal reviews.
- Conduct material and labor take-offs; analyze labor requirements.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and track project progress through completion.
- Generate submittals, O&M manuals, and manage change orders and procurement.
- Ensure project compliance with budgets, timelines, codes, and safety regulations.
- Work with accounting on invoicing and financial tracking.
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical project estimating experience (commercial/industrial).

- Experience with estimating tools/software such as QuickPen, Trimble, SoftQuote, or SMEP is a plus.

Scope of Position: The Lead Equipment Installation Mechanical Technician is a senior-level technical role responsible for leading and executing complex mechanical equipment installations.
This position provides on-site leadership, technical expertise, and coordination for installation projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
The Lead Technician serves as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior technicians.
This position is in the Engineering Project and is focused on capacity additions and the associated line installations and debug from a mechanical perspective.
Lead and/or participate on manufacturing engineering projects and lead/support teams for the purposes of capacity installations, equipment debug, and preparing line/associated parts for Operations Receivership.
As a leading team member, provide advanced mechanical discipline to proactively identify technical problems through root cause understanding coupled with robust industrialized solutions relative to line debug and installs.
Leverage knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, machining and designing processes to improve performance of equipment/manufacturing process.
Lead/support the development and execution of project plans to deliver timely error-free mechanical support for multi-line equipment installations Experienced with working along-side vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues to protect scope, timing, and cost metrics.
Ability to work, collaborate, cooperate, and utilize Best Practice across various functional groups on a daily basis to accomplish goals Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and installation manuals.
