Summary:
This Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is responsible for helping perform a variety of complex specialized tasks, including but not limited to, operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This individual is responsible for helping develop and implement systems to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within the scope of practice, inventory management, and schedule coordination. The IR Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The IR Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. The RN Clinical Charge Nurse is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of the unit on an assigned shift to assure successful safe delivery of care. The Charge Nurse is a caregiver and often takes modified patient care assignment. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the WellStar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the WellStar Professional Nursing Practice Model and evidence based practice and research. The RN Clinical Charge Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care.
