About the Role

We are seeking skilled Mechanical Machine Builders2 Integration Builders and 1 Sub‑Assembly Builder—to join our team supporting automotive equipment build and installation projects. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering high‑quality workmanship.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical integration and sub‑assembly work for automotive OEM projects (Chrysler, Ford, GM).
  • Work independently on medium-complexity mechanical build projects.
  • Follow equipment installation through all phases, from in-house build to customer-site installation.
  • Assist the project team in resolving technical issues or build concerns.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and BOMs.
  • Update and submit weekly E‑BOM summaries to the Mechanical Supervisor.
  • Verify all parts and assemblies conform to specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Maintain project schedules, track open issues, and meet deadlines.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality system procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Utilize rigging and crane equipment safely and effectively.

As an Integral Fuel Tank Sealer, you will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety during the sealing and assembly processes. Utilizing detailed installation plans and specifications, you will prepare tank surfaces, load sealing equipment, and apply sealants and topcoats according to established guidelines. Conducting thorough inspections and shakedowns of work areas prior to tank closure will ensure that any damaged seals or components are repaired and that all systems are functioning correctly. You will also assist with pressure testing operations and perform functional tests on fuel vent systems to identify and address any leaks. Your attention to detail will be critical in determining the appropriate sealing compounds and methods for each task, ensuring compliance. Position Responsibilities:

  • Obtain daily work assignments from the lead or supervisor and review relevant Installation Plans (IP) and Shop Order Instants (SOI) to determine the work area.
  • Gather necessary sealants, solvents, cleaners, and wipers from the designated storage area.
  • Install ventilation equipment as required to ensure proper airflow in the work cavity.
  • Clean tank surfaces using appropriate solvents or detergents, ensuring they are wiped dry.
  • Clean and adjust sealing equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Load sealing guns and apply sealant and/or topcoat per BAC specifications, including fillet seals to system components and sealing heads and collars of fasteners.
  • Perform a shake-down of work areas prior to tank closure to repair any damaged seals or components and prepare for inspection.
  • Apply wing station identification numbers on tank doors using stencils and spray paint as required.
  • Install fuel tank closure panels or access doors after all necessary steps are complete and accepted by quality assurance.
  • Assist with pressure testing operations and perform functional tests on fuel vent systems and tank cavities to determine if leaks exist.
  • Submit completed jobs or in-process checks to inspectors for acceptance or rejection.
  • Determine proper sealing compounds, sequence of work, and method of application to accomplish assignments.
  • Apply aerodynamic seals to skin gaps on leading and trailing edge panels as required.
  • Position tools for locating vortex generators and apply faying surface seals as needed.
  • Maintain personal and tool certifications, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and contact supervisors for assistance when needed.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Perform pickup and rework, incorporating changes and conducting functional checks on work typically installed by lower classifications. 

  • Perform continuity checks for electrical systems and hand form electrical wiring and soldering as necessary for work assignments.

  • Locate and pre-install routing and clamping hardware for in-wing fuel tank electrical and plumbing systems as required. 

  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify that quality standards are achieved. 

  • Report job handicaps, such as errors in sequencing, parts, materials, and assembly procedures, following shop procedures. 

  • Check work after completion of each operation to ensure assembly is complete and free of defects and remove and replace installations and related components as necessary.

Integrated Spine is a newly integrated inpatient spine unit that consolidates neurologic and orthopedic spine patients into one location. This allows for high-quality, standardized care for all patients regardless of surgeon specialty. This unit is the newest addition to the surgical services team and provides an opportunity for nurses to help build this unique unit. Nurses on this unit will become adept in both the neurologic and orthopedic realms of nursing as they will care for patients who undergo a wide variety of surgical procedures. We specialize in treatment of degenerative spine conditions, traumatic spinal injuries, complex spinal reconstructive surgeries, spinal tumors, and spinal revision surgeries.

Responsibilities

- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.

This unit has 40 private rooms for both high risk and low risk postpartum patients, post-operative surgery and medical patients.  As part of MercyOne Children’s Hospital the unit also has a newborn nursery.  Nursing and medical providers work together as a team to deliver care for the newborn, mother as well as medical patients. 

POSITION PURPOSE 

Acts as a clinical/educational resource to patient care activities/teaching programs within the area of defined specialization. Supports patient/family/unit needs of diverse ages. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

 

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.  

Identifies educational needs, develops program(s) to meet those needs, and coordinates implementation of the program(s). 

Evaluates programs and modifies as indicated. 

Works independently with limited direct supervision using the Nurse Practice Act, MercyOne Medical Center policies, nursing standards, and professional judgment. 

Serves as a resource in area of specialty and collaborates with other disciplines. 

Provides consultation in specialty areas to all levels of health care providers throughout the hospital, affiliated schools of nursing, and the community. 

Actively participates on committees, task forces, and in work groups, as requested. 

Participates in research by reviewing literature, communicates findings, identifies potential research questions/projects and coordinates research projects in area of clinical specialty. 

Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established standards. 

Presents selected program topics. 

Facilitates program presentation/equipment gathering. 

Utilizes delegation skills effectively. 

Coordinates the lactation champions and the “Mommy and Me” class. 

Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager. 

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Possession of a current or compact state license as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa. 

Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required. 

Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire. 

BLS for the Healthcare Provider certification within six (6) weeks of hire. 

Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within six (6) weeks of hire. 

Demonstrates competency in breastfeeding techniques. 

Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. 

Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

The designer will collaborate with marketing, project management, and production partners to deliver on business goals.
