Position Details:

- PRN Weekday & Weekends: Mon-Fri + weekends as needed (8am-430pm) – usually will be at least 2 days per week

- Performing peripheral vascular ultrasounds, arterial doppler/duplex, abdominal/renal ultrasound, a/v fistula scans

Requirements:

- Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care including Children’s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial, offering medical and surgical services plus critical care, is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. In addition, Memorial Belleville recently was accredited by the American College of Radiology as a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been designated as a Magnet®-recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh , a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care.

The Cardiovascular Unit of Memorial Hospital is a diagnostic and therapeutic services department. Services delivered are based upon direct physician orders and are available in both the in- and out-patient setting.

Role Purpose

The Registered Vascular Sonographer performs a variety of tests to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Exams include, but not limited to, carotid imaging, peripheral plethysmography, doppler wave form, segmental pressure, venous and arterial imaging, and thoracic outlet studies. May also perform vascular procedures.

Responsibilities

- Performs vascular studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.

Overview
The Heart & Vascular Clinic Operations Director provides strategic and operational leadership for ambulatory services across the Cardiology (general & invasive), Electrophysiology (EP), Vascular, and Interventional Radiology (IR) clinics. This role ensures clinical operations deliver patient centered care that focuses on access, growth, quality outcomes and patient experience. The Director partners closely with appropriate stakeholders to optimize the continuum from referral to procedure to follow up.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Access
  • Lead day to day operations for multi site Heart & Vascular clinics, including Cardiology (general and invasive consults), EP, Vascular, and IR ambulatory pathways.
  • Assumes 24-hour responsibility for assigned areas of operations.
  • Own access and capacity management: templates, scheduling rules, slot utilization, referral triage, and wait time reduction for new and follow up patients.
  • Standardize clinic workflows (check in, rooming, testing coordination, care transitions) and implement Lean process improvements to reduce lead time and waste.

We are seeking a board-certified Vascular Surgeon for a 54-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Jan 5, 2026. This overnight hospital-based role covers cardiovascular surgery from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekend call coverage 2–3 weekends per month (24-hour coverage). The ideal candidate will have an active Pennsylvania license and a strong background in vascular surgery, including fellowship training.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide hospital-based rounding and overnight cardiovascular surgery coverage
  • Perform aneurysm repairs
  • Conduct carotid artery endarterectomy (CEA)
  • Perform femoral bypass surgery
  • Manage fistula procedures
  • Execute endovascular and open surgical reconstruction for deep vein occlusions
  • Deliver endovascular therapy for peripheral artery disease (PAD)
  • Manage endovascular therapy for gangrene of the limbs
  • Treat vascular malformations
  • Diagnose and manage Nutcracker Syndrome and lymphedema
  • Address varicose veins, vinas wounds, and carotid stents

Job Summary:

Conducts non-invasive vascular studies including ultrasound. Prepares test results. Maintains equipment and vascular database.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Explains test procedures and purpose. Demonstrates equipment for patient. Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic tests and medical procedures. Observes, monitors, and evaluates patient condition during and after procedures.

- Assists physician in developing new techniques and procedures. Assists provider in patient examination and procedures. Prepares exam results for interpretation by physician. Reads and assesses diagnostic test abnormalities.

- Consults with provider concerning procedures and patient condition. Follows standard infection control procedures. Monitors and evaluates test readings during procedures. Alerts physicians to positive test results or test abnormalities.

- Responds to emergencies and stat requests. Transports patients to/from procedure area.

- Performs non-invasive peripheral vascular diagnostic procedures. Operates ultrasound equipment.

License, Certification, Registration

- Registered Vascular Technologist Certificate

- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association

Additional Requirements:

- Knowledge of common consequences of vascular trauma, including hemorrhage, hematoma, false aneurysm and arterio-venous fistulae and how non-invasive testing methods may be used to help identify these abnormalities.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology of vascular disease.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in oral communication, written communication, problem solving, interpersonal relations and customer service.
