OVERVIEW:
The Privileging Team Lead is a functional subject matter expert for the Mountain Parks Privileging processes. The Privileging processes and applications include CredentialStream, Kronos (HR System), as well as various sites, organizations, and resources. This role will develop new and innovative ways to automate Privileging functions, processes, data analytics, and reporting needs to gain efficiencies while maintaining compliance with HRSA, The Joint Commission, and other governmental requirements both Federal and State.
This is a lead position responsible for the supervision of Privileging Coordinator and the Privileging Systems Coordinator providing process support, analysis of data, communication, and coordination with End Users and key stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides direction, expertise, and mentoring for the Privileging team in the areas of Privileging, Reprivileging, license maintenance and compliance.
- Manages projects of all changes to the Privileging system applications (CredentialStream); determines time estimates for completing projects.
- Conducts impact analysis of business requirements in the system and ensures compliance with all applicable credentialing agencies, state and federal laws.
- Recognizes, investigates, and validates discrepancies and adverse information obtained from the application, primary source verifications, or other sources.
- Verifies and documents expirables using acceptable verification sources to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standard.
- Complies with internal and external requirements related to verifying the status of all practitioner/provider expirables (e.g., licenses, certifications) by querying approved sources and recommending action(s) to ensure compliance.
- Acts as the subject matter expert for Privileging processes and the Privileging application with users, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and identifying overall needs.
- Oversees the creation and maintenance of training materials, user procedures, and documentation (test plans, design documents, etc.) for the end users.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
- Six (6) years of experience in medical services field such as Privileging and/or Credentialing.

Day to day:
- Contacts insurance carriers to monitor claim status and confirm timely processing and payment.
- Manages assigned accounts based on priority level, independently handling billing activities while adhering to all applicable insurance guidelines and CMS regulations.
- Refiles claims that have not received a response or are missing from the payer’s system, ensuring submission within contractual filing deadlines.
- Investigates unpaid or denied claims, analyzes coding for accuracy, and submits appeals when appropriate to secure reimbursement.
- Updates patient demographic or insurance information as needed to ensure accurate and “clean” claim submission.
- Reviews and processes insurance credit balances, preparing documentation for refund approval when required.
