Details Work in the Medical Surgical unit of an acute care Level I trauma center and Magnet hospital Adult patient population with oncology and general med/surg cases Unit features 24 beds with an average daily census of 24 Day shifts available: 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts, 7:15 AM
- 6:45 PM Will work every other weekend No on-call requirements Floating to other units or affiliate hospitals is required as needed Cerner charting system is used and experience is required Scrub attire is any solid color Requirements Active IL RN license in hand or in application process is required Minimum of 1 year of med/surg RN experience is required Chemotherapy administration, body fluid handling post chemo, IV push and continuous infusion experience required Skills in accessing and managing ports, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration required Chemo certification is preferred but not required AHA or Red Cross BLS certification required; RQI cards not accepted Must provide two professional references from a supervisor within the past two years Cerner charting experience preferred Additional Information Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, managing cytotoxic spills, and monitoring abnormal lab values Assignment is open to first-time travelers Locals are accepted with no radius restrictions Must have been separated from employment as a perm or PRN at the facility for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler Must complete training modules virtually on the first day; up to 16 hours are not billable A parking permit is required but provided at no cost A maximum of 5 days requested time off is permitted without special approval Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract period American Traveler Job ID P-664730.
