LHH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near Danville, IN. This organization has a long track record of success and has been rated among the top workplaces in Indiana. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the production floor, lead continuous improvement projects, and perform other production-related engineering duties. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $85,000-100,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with an uncapped company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes by assessing product requirements, ensuring manufacturability, and designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Leverage expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials while collaborating closely with production teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, investigate equipment failures, prepare follow-up reports, and provide technical guidance to floor personnel.
  • Perform root cause analysis to address quality concerns during production.
  • Execute capital projects and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen events to enhance manufacturing processes, implement Lean principles, and improve quality performance.
  • Coordinate with operations and management to align on daily objectives and report progress.
  • Work with maintenance, production, engineering teams, and external contractors to improve equipment reliability, service quality, and repair practices.
  • Analyze workflows and optimize space and equipment layouts to boost manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop innovative solutions to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering experience within a manufacturing facility is required
  • Must have experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
  • Must possess the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams/schematics
  • Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is able to succeed with little supervision
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
