You will serve as the organization’s senior technology leader while also remaining close to the technology, partnering with our co-managed MSP and telecom providers, providing escalation support, driving cybersecurity initiatives, and ensuring our systems run smoothly every day.

Strategic Leadership

• Serve as the primary technology advisor to executive leadership.
• Develop and execute annual IT roadmap aligned with company growth objectives.
• Present updates on cybersecurity, infrastructure health, risk management, and ROI.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to improve operational performance.

IT Operations & Infrastructure

• Oversee Microsoft 365 (Accounts, Licensing, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, MFA, Device Mgmt.).
• Manage and maintain our Azure environment, including administration of virtual servers (VMs), resource groups, storage, networking, backups, security controls, performance monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for helpdesk in partnership with our co-managed MSP.
• Maintain and manage IT inventory, tracking asset lifecycles, ensuring licensing compliance, optimizing usage, and coordinating procurement and disposal to control costs and reduce waste.
• Maintain oversight and provide support for network infrastructure, firewalls, VoIP, and connectivity.
• Support and oversee all aspects of IT Project Management.
• Oversee JAMF and manage our fleet of Apple devices.
• Own and continuously optimize our existing AI ecosystem, including Claude and MS Copilot; champion a culture of security awareness and responsible AI adoption while ensuring effective cost governance and budget accountability.
• Ensure strong endpoint management, patching compliance, and lifecycle planning.
• Support and optimize Power BI, Power Automate and other business-critical SaaS platforms.
• Lead technology due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

• Lead enterprise cybersecurity strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage risk assessments, phishing simulations, incident response planning, and security audits.
• Align policies with recognized security frameworks, data privacy standards and compliance standards such as NIST.

Vendor & Financial Management

• Lead and hold accountable our co-managed MSP and telecom partners through clear KPIs and SLAs.
• Equipment Purchases, negotiate contracts, optimize licensing, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage annual IT operating and capital budgets.
• Conduct ROI and cost-benefit analysis on technology investments.
• Maintain enterprise-wide asset inventory and licensing compliance.

Business Partnership

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical providers.
• Translate technical concepts into clear business recommendations.
• Promote a customer-service-oriented IT experience across all locations.

• 7–10+ years of progressive IT experience across helpdesk, infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity.

We’re searching for a Remote Assistance Specialist who will play a crucial role in expanding the

remote operations team. This person will be responsible for safely monitoring and resolving trigger

requests from fleet vehicles across public roads and closed course testing sites.

• Respond to and resolve in a timely manner a variety of trigger requests from the autonomous vehicle
• Safely send remote commands to autonomous vehicles for on road and closed course testing
• Log real time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing, to be delivered to engineers
• Triage and review of remote assist workflows that are key to performance metrics and compliance
• Escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions
• Demonstrate positive impact by working on cross-functional projects as time permits

Position Summary:

Perform broad support engineering functions for engineering group in assistance to project and product related taskings from Engineering Management for the thermal product line. Enable successful task completion to produce technical value from the company.

Applies knowledge and understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering to form documents, calculations, and drawings. Manages projects on multiple technologies, and contracts as required. Aids in procurement, document control and other technical administration functions. Develops new suppliers and supply philosophies for thermal products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Aids in growth of company with a focus on wastewater business line technical services, ranging from Biosolids treatment to conveyance and disposal management.
• Engages clients in meaningful discussions about their most critical issues and translates those discussions into opportunities to deliver complete Project solutions. Captures technical notes.
• Actively participate in pursuit decisions, and in proposal and pricing development.
• Engage and develop relationships with key Industry partners including Vendors, Contractors and Licensing agreements that can help advance position in the marketplace.
• Responsible for collecting all regulatory required data, compiling regulatory reports, maintaining files of analysis results and regulatory reports and coordinating research.
• Manage the technical aspect of projects through the engineering process by assigning work, controlling standards, and evaluating results while controlling engineering costs. Reporting on any variations to management.

• Develops and maintains new procurement philosophy for the thermal product line.
• Develops alternative suppliers for industrial equipment.
• Aids in process hazard assessments, safety in designs.
• Aids in generating new ideas for product improvement, reliability, and cost reduction.
• Forming, maintaining, and improving standard designs of technologies for repeatability
• Aids in management of change planning.
• Responsible for managing documents in the document control process.
• Develop and provide ISA data sheets, engineering descriptions, preliminary/final engineering designs, and recommendations for process upgrades.

Minimum Requirements:

• BS Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering degree preferred, others suitable with commensurate experience.
• 7+ years of experience working with water and/or wastewater treatment plants and equipment
• Excellent proficiency to read, write, and understand the English language.
• Climb stairs and ladders, comfortable working at heights.
• Travel up to 25%, potential.
• >2 years of experience in working and interacting with customers and vendors.
• >2 years of experience in developing budgets, schedules, plans, and forecasts.
• Skilled in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, and AutoCAD products.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Operations to serve as the in-house technical authority on the UPS, power distribution, and emergency power systems that underpin 100% uptime. This role is purpose-built for an experienced critical power professional who has spent a career on the OEM and field service side of the business—commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining the very systems that keep mission-critical facilities running—and is ready to bring that depth of knowledge to an owner-operator environment.

You will be the go-to expert for all critical power infrastructure across our client’s Houston campus, working directly with a tenured operations team during a period of significant expansion. Your deep familiarity with UPS platforms, switchgear, transfer switches, and battery systems—combined with established OEM and vendor relationships—will be a force multiplier for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for all UPS systems, including preventive maintenance, firmware management, diagnostics, module-level repair, and full system commissioning.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain critical electrical infrastructure including switchgear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), static transfer switches (STS), PDUs, RPPs, generators, and battery plants.
• Leverage deep OEM relationships and product knowledge (Schneider/APC, Eaton/MGE, Toshiba/Mitsubishi, Vertiv/Liebert, or similar) to optimize maintenance programs, warranty coverage, and parts sourcing.
• Perform root cause analysis on critical power system failures and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and protect uptime commitments.
• Execute complex switching operations, load transfers, and system isolations following strict Method of Procedure (MOP) protocols and change management processes.
• Monitor and interpret data from Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) to identify trends, anomalies, and capacity risks.
• Support commissioning and acceptance testing of new critical power infrastructure associated with our client’s ongoing 24MW expansion, including factory witness testing and site acceptance.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships for equipment servicing, warranty claims, emergency callouts, and capital improvement projects.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, as-built documentation, battery test logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all critical power systems.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and serve as a first responder for power-related facility alarms and emergency events.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, and all applicable codes and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in critical power systems, with a strong emphasis on UPS field service, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Extensive hands-on experience with UPS platforms from major OEMs such as Schneider Electric/APC, MGE, Eaton, Toshiba/Mitsubishi, Vertiv/Liebert, or equivalent manufacturers.
• Deep working knowledge of power distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, bus duct, and battery systems (VRLA, lithium-ion).
• Demonstrated experience with automatic transfer switches (ATS) and static transfer switches (STS), including testing, maintenance, and failure response.
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and redline single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Proficiency in switching operations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and energized work procedures in compliance with NFPA 70E.
• Strong vendor and OEM relationship management skills with established networks in the critical power ecosystem.
• Excellent documentation habits and experience working within formal change management and MOP frameworks.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

• Background spanning multiple critical power OEMs and/or manufacturer’s representative organizations, providing broad product knowledge across competing platforms.
• Prior experience in a data center, colocation, or mission-critical facility environment (owner-operator, hyperscale, or enterprise).
• Experience in field operations leadership, including scheduling, dispatching, and managing service delivery teams.
• Familiarity with generator paralleling systems, medium-voltage distribution, and utility interconnection.
• Relevant certifications such as Journeyman or Master Electrician license, NFPA 70E certification, OEM factory training certifications, or BICSI credentials.
• Electrical Engineering degree, Electrical Technology degree, or equivalent technical training (military technical training fully valued).
• Experience supporting commissioning, capacity expansion, or new-build critical infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with BMS/EPMS platforms (Schneider EcoStruxure, Vertiv Trellis, or similar).
• U.S. military service with technical MOS/rating experience is a recognized asset.
