Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital includes state-of-the-art rehabilitation services for patients recovering from health care conditions. It is the only rehabilitation hospital in the state accredited in six programs by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for organizing and conducting medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to individuals with developmental, physical, cognitive, and/or emotional impairments, disabilities, and/or handicaps to assist in reaching optimal function within their physical limitations.
Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Oversees daily operations of the inpatient therapy department at Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital; provides direction and clinical supervision to clinical support staff. Promotes Physical Therapy Services and professional development throughout the organization and community.
Works under the administrative direction of the Director of Therapy Services.

Job Requirements
:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current Licensure or licensure eligible in Physical Therapy in the State of NM.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Three to four years of related experience.

Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing and medical staff.
Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
Observed patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered nurses or other medical staff.
Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
Qualifications:

High School or GED.
