Description
The Scientific Computing & Data group at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) accelerates scientific discovery by supporting a high-performance computing and research data ecosystem. This includes a data commons and two clinical research data warehouses: one for ISMMS and one for the Kidney Precision Medicine Project (KPMP), a multi-institutional research consortium ( ) funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). Both warehouses use Microsoft SQL Server and the OMOP Common Data Model.
The Lead Data Warehouse Engineer is a senior technical specialist responsible for leading development, maintenance, and operations of these research data warehouses. The role collaborates with warehouse team members and research stakeholders to expand functionality and integrate new data sources. Data transformations are built in Transact-SQL stored procedures, with SSIS used for orchestration.
Responsibilities
- Design databases and pipelines that balance functionality, performance, cost, and development time; evaluate technical options with the product manager.
- Design, build, test, and maintain ETL/ELT processes using T-SQL stored procedures, SSIS, and SQL Agent; apply metadata-driven design for extensibility.
- Serve as a team leader; contribute to project planning, work breakdown, dependency sequencing, and release management.
- Develop and promote standards, conventions, design patterns, DevOps/SDLC best practices, and operational procedures for pipelines and warehouse maintenance.
- Mentor junior engineers in data warehousing, data engineering skills, and operational support.
- Design, build, and maintain data management processes, including loading flat files (csv, tsv, pipe-delimited, JSON).
- Lead design sessions, code walkthroughs, peer reviews, and produce technical documentation.
- Tune database objects, stored procedures, and pipelines to optimize performance and minimize compute and storage costs.
- Monitor database and pipeline operations; lead troubleshooting and remediation of failures; provide occasional after-hours on-call support.
- Collaborate with DBAs and system administrators on backups, performance tuning, statistics/index maintenance, and patching.
- Provide high-quality customer service to researchers, clinicians, and internal partners; maintain a science‑driven, customer-focused approach.
- Ensure patient privacy and data security in compliance with IRB & cybersecurity policies, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, NYS Article 27-F, and other regulations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies to improve capabilities, efficiency, quality, or cost.
- Identify improvements in procedures, technology, compliance, and data privacy/security.
- Periodically assist DBAs with user provisioning, backups, restorations, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; Master’s preferred.
- 12–15 years of related experience, including 7+ years designing, developing, and maintaining relational databases, data pipelines, and dimensional/OLAP warehouses.

- Expert knowledge of data warehousing: 3NF & dimensional modeling (fact table types, SCDs), change data capture, incremental loads, data lineage, source-to-target mappings, pattern-based & parameter-driven development.
- Expert-level experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies: T-SQL, indexing, stored procedures, UDFs, sequences, dynamic SQL, Linked Servers, SSIS, Visual Studio, SSDT, and SQL Agent.
- Experience with DevOps/SDLC best practices; Agile (Scrum, Kanban) with JIRA and Confluence; version control with git.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for working with researchers, clinicians, administrators, and IT staff.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, multitasking, and collaboration skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience with healthcare data (EHR, billing/claims, cost accounting), Epic Clarity/Caboodle, data models (OMOP, i2b2, PCORnet).

**WPP Enterprise Solutions is significantly expanding our strategic global partnerships with both Kyndryl and Gradial.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales & Consulting Lead to drive our joint go-to-market efforts across these two distinct partner ecosystems.
This role is pivotal in identifying, developing, and closing WPP billable opportunities within both Kyndryl's and Gradial's client bases, existing WPP accounts, as well as through new joint pursuits.This is a quota-carrying sales role with a strong consulting component, responsible for translating complex client needs into integrated WPP-Kyndryl and WPP-Gradial solutions.
You will work closely with WPP's client account leadership and the respective partner teams to forge new paths for comprehensive experience and content transformation.

**Role Summary

** Own WPP revenue generation influenced by and delivered in partnership with Kyndryl and Gradial across enterprise accounts in your assigned region.
Responsible for identifying, nurturing, and closing WPP Enterprise Solutions services opportunities, leveraging each partner's unique platforms and expertise to drive comprehensive transformation for clients.
**Role Framework:
** This role operates across three primary motions, with clear distinctions for each alliance:
* **Client Engagement & Solution Development (40%):
** Lead experience, technology, and content transformation pursuits from qualification through close, bringing a consultative approach to define integrated WPP-Kyndryl and WPP-Gradial solutions.
* **Partner Coordination (35%):
** Build deep relationships with Kyndryl and Gradial regional leadership, consult and sales teams, and account leadership, aligning on joint client strategies and pipeline development for each respective partnership.
* **Internal Orchestration & GTM (25%):
** Coordinate WPP resources (solution design & architectures, capability subject matter experts, delivery, executive sponsorship) and contribute to the evolution of the joint alliance strategies and go-to-market plans for both Kyndryl and Gradial.
**Accountability:
** You carry an individual quota and are accountable for WPP Enterprise Solutions billable revenue specifically influenced by and delivered through the Kyndryl and Gradial partnerships.
Success is measured by closed deals, pipeline health, and the depth of collaboration and joint success with each partner's regional and vertical teams.

*** Lead complex, consultative sales pursuits for WPP's CX, AI, data, technology, and content transformation services, from initial qualification through contract close.
* Facilitate executive briefings and collaborative workshops with existing and new clients, and partner leadership to co-create solutions and build alignment.
* Navigate complex procurement processes within large enterprise organizations, positioning value for both marketing and IT stakeholders.
* Guide clients through discovery, problem definition, and solution design, leveraging a blend of sales and consulting expertise.
* **For Kyndryl Solutions:
**+ Articulate the unique value proposition of WPP's front-end creativity and experience design seamlessly integrated with Kyndryl's back-end mission-critical infrastructure, managed services, and AI transformation capabilities ("chip-to-experience" transformation).+ Develop and present WPP-Kyndryl joint solutions showcasing how enhanced customer experiences are powered by robust and secure IT foundations.

The Interconnection Specialistis responsible formanaging the end-to-end utility interconnection process for commercial and industrial (C&I) solar and battery energy storage projects. Theobjectiveof this role is to drive the interconnection process frominitialsubmission to signed agreement, meeting all schedulemilestonesand providing consistent status updates to internal stakeholders. The Interconnection Specialist mitigates project risk,optimizestimelines for utility interconnection approval, and ensures that distributed energy resources are successfully integrated into the electrical grid.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate utility feedback and deficiency responses to progress interconnection applications through utility studies nationally.
- Ensureall interconnection submissions areaccurate, complete, andtimely.
- Manage relationships with third-party engineering vendor partners to oversee the creation of interconnection drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical exhibits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility representatives to negotiate study timelines, resolve technical discrepancies, andexpeditethe approval process.
- Proactively develop and grow strategic relationships with utility representatives and engineering departments to improve communication channels andexpediteproject reviews.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of utility tariffs, interconnection rules, and net metering policies across variousjurisdictionsto support project feasibility assessments.
- Facilitate project-specific review meetings with utility representatives, developmentengineersand project developers to review results and options to move project forward
- Facilitate regular status meetings with development engineers and project developers to provide visibility into interconnection milestones and potential bottlenecks.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $90,360 to $110,440 annually. Title and compensation will be determined based on experience and may align to either the Project Developer or Senior Project Developer level. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable).
