What You Will Do

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments with attention to technique, patient safety, and individual needs.

Technical Environment

Position Summary & Highlights:
  • This Medical Assistant position will provide direct support to two providers in the clinic.

  • The clinic boasts a culture of collaborative, autonomous, connected, welcoming, hardworking, and rewarding.

  • As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease. 

  • Neurologic conditions treated include: Stroke Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors, Neuromuscular dysfunction, Migraine, Multiple sclerosis, Memory conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

  • The Neurosurgery clinic team works in tandem with our neurosurgical team as well as supporting our neuro-ophthalmologist who is the only one in the state of Idaho!

What Will You Do:
  • In addition to rooming patients and taking vitals, you will perform prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging.

  • Complete chart prep, follow up on imaging orders, calling patients with surgery instructions, and an occasional set up for a procedure.

  • You will work in a great positive team environment along side other MAs, RNs, and front office staff.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Need to be able to consistently anticipate what needs to be done for a successful visit with the surgeons. This is a very fast paced clinic, mentally and physically, requiring rooming upwards of 20-25 patients each clinical day.

  • Be reliable, a proactive diligent worker, eager to learn, has an interest in the neuroscience field, and likes to be challenged and able to handle stressful situations at times.

  • Be friendly and confident, enjoy providing attentive and compassionate patient care, have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

  • Enjoy working with patients of all ages and enjoy working independently and in a team environment!

Work Schedule:
  • 40 hours per week, Mondays – Fridays, around the hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm. There is no clinic on Fridays so the clinic has a rotation of who has a day off or leaves early.

Under the supervision of the Practice Supervisor, the Registered Nurse directs and/or provides professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum. This position is eligible for a Sign On Bonus and a Relocation Assistance package The unit operates under the Together Care Team Model , which includes Virtual RNs, bedside RNs, and CNAs, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. This structure not only enhances patient care but also presents significant opportunities for professional growth into other specialties, such as Emergency Room and Critical Care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provides professional nursing care in collaboration with members of the health care team in the ongoing assessment, planning and treatment of patients and families.
