You will serve as a SHIPFITTER in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

Duties
Help
- You will install and fit parts on ships and locate positions of pieces by reference to water line, center lines, frame lines and other reference points.
- You will install packing, gaskets, liners and similar items where necessary.
- You will remove and repair or replace damaged parts of doors, hatches, and ship structures
- You will lay out shell, deck and bulkhead plates, I-beams, channel bar, angle bar, and other structural shapes, gun rings, struts, framing, and foundation structures and other parts from blueprints and mold loft templates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in executive operations, business operations, Project Management Office (PMO), consulting, strategy, or senior executive support.
- Utility industry experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills across all levels of the business.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, planning, time management, and follow-up skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and prioritizing across competing demands.
- Executive presence with sound judgment and attention to detail.

Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, nine (9) years of related experience.

Role Description
- Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices for sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.
- Identify, evaluate, and select primary and secondary suppliers for materials and services.
- Align procurement activities with production schedules, inventory needs, purchase requisitions, and demand forecasts.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal business outcomes.
- Monitor supplier performance including quality, delivery, and compliance; resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or non-conformance.
- Analyze purchasing trends, cost data, and market conditions to support cost reduction and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with suppliers to assess capabilities, capacity, logistics, and long-term partnership opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Receiving) to support seamless operations.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and participate in inventory cycle counts and year-end physical inventory.
- Lead, mentor, and support procurement, materials, and inventory control team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation and vendor management.
- Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and procurement systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Position is exempt and may require extended hours to support operational needs.
