This Surgical Technician - First Assist opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who assists surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The Sleep Technologist II is responsible for providing high-quality patient care while performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis, and associated interventions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Polysomnographic Testing Procedures
- Train junior technologists when necessary.
- Make beds and ensure the cleanliness of the facility
- Review the information in patient paperwork to include sleep/wake complaints and order for study.
- Greet the patient upon arrival and escort him/her to the sleep room. Educate patient and family concerning overnight/morning procedures, answering any questions. Interview the patient to obtain information needed for the completion of pre-test paperwork.
- Set up and calibrate monitoring equipment, selecting the appropriate recording montage.
- Apply electrodes and other recording devices to the patient and verify proper function.
- Perform pre-test calibrations, making any necessary adjustments to equipment.
- Institute “lights out” and document patient data.
- Monitor the polysomnogram, obtaining a high-quality recording.
- Recognize and document clinical and physiological events pertinent to the study.
- Communicate information on patient status to the medical director as needed.
- Recognize and document all artifacts and equipment malfunctions, taking the proper steps to eliminate them. Report any equipment malfunctions to the direct supervisor.
- Call the sleep center manager or 24-hour technical support line for assistance as needed.
- Assist the patient with needs during the procedure in order to obtain the required sleep/wake data.
- Understand indications, contraindications, and adverse effects of continuous and bilevel-positive airway pressure as well as oxygen administration.
- Apply and titrate positive airway pressure and oxygen therapy based on physician order and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Wake the patient and record post-test calibrations.
- Gently remove all electrodes and transducers from the patient and allow time for clean up.
- Have the patient complete the post-test paperwork before discharge.
- Strip beds and leave room in appropriate condition for housekeeping.
- Copy and upload all required data for the scoring technologist.
- Inventory and order equipment/supplies per policy.
Patient and Equipment Safety
- Recognize and respond appropriately and quickly to patient physiologic events.
- Safely lift/move patients and equipment, using proper body mechanics.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all patients, including those with special needs.
- Check the availability and function of emergency equipment.
- Comply with Universal Precautions at all times.
- Properly disinfect/sterilize equipment, electrodes, and transducers.
- Appropriately handle all hazardous materials.
Complex Procedures
- Conduct Multiple Sleep Latency and Maintenance of Wakefulness testing.
- Conduct testing of patients with disabilities and other special needs.
- Conduct advanced monitoring procedures when required by the Medical Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Must have a high school diploma and additional education in an AMA-approved health-related program.
Licensure
- Proof of RPSGT credentialing by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
- Must meet requirements prescribed by the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST) to maintain RPSGT credential.
- Current and valid CPR certification.
Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of medical-related experience along with additional education in an AMA-approved health-related program
- Prior experience as a sleep technologist, EEG technologist, respiratory care practitioner, or nurse.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach above the shoulder for long periods of time in a clinical setting.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or carry and frequently push or pull up to 100 lbs. as part of the role
- Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment

The Opportunity:
Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to hire a Materials Handler II at the UCF Downtown campus. The Materials Handler II is responsible for supporting daily operations by receiving, processing, and delivering materials, supplies, and packages to university departments. This role also maintains the Receiving Bay and assists other Receiving, Stores, and Surplus staff as needed.
Responsibilities:
Receive and unload incoming shipments.
Verify accuracy of deliveries by comparing packing slips with purchase orders.
Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and/or log inventory for processing.
Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and record discrepancies.
Notify supervisor and/or recipient of any issues with shipments.
Deliver materials and packages to requesting university departments.
Obtain authorized signatures for delivered items.
Maintain department databases and prepare routine reports.
File shipping and receiving records in an organized manner.
Operate equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts as needed.
Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Ensure proper care and use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Willingness or ability to obtain a forklift certification.
Process or notify Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regarding hazardous or universal waste shipments according to policy.
Warehouse & Facility Maintenance.
Organize and maintain the "Shop Stock" warehouse, including labeling items with part numbers and pricing when available.
Keep the receiving area, warehouse, and service yard clean and orderly.
Additional Duties
Assist other Facilities Operations areas during staffing shortages or emergencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experienceor an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or materials handling in an institutional or industrial setting.
Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including sorting, labeling, logging, and tracking materials.
Familiarity with using warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts (forklift certification preferred).
Experience handling hazardous or universal waste or working within EH&S guidelines.
Strong attention to detail when verifying packing slips, purchase orders, and shipment accuracy.
Ability tomaintainorganized, clean, and efficient workspaces, including receiving bays and warehouse areas.
The most successful candidates maypossessthe following qualities:
Proficiency with basic computer applications and database systems used for inventory, order tracking, and recordkeeping.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide courteous, professional service to campus departments.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment.
Previousexperience in a facilities, operations, orlogisticsdepartment within a university or similar organization.
Health Assessment Required:
The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $14 to $17. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

The Registered Nurse (RN) duties are to assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and possess a State Registered Nursing license.
- Prepares patient assessment reports from the hospital centers and forwards the reports to the physicians for validation.
- Performs testing and reports all results to physicians as well as documenting all findings in patient's medical record.
- Assists the physicians with patient visits and exams.
- Assists the physician with procedures, and properly labels and send specimens to appropriate labs.
- Schedules patient's as directed by the physician.
- Provides telephone triage and properly documents all patient, physician and other contacts.
- Performs medication administration as necessary using universal precautions and documenting appropriately in the patient's medical record (i.e. time, amount, route of administration, site of administration, and any patient reaction).
- Participates in revenue cycle by ensuring authorizations and referrals are in place and notifying the Billing Associate of needs for further authorizations.
- Documents correct CPT and ICD-10 codes for services provided.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Communicates effectively and courteously with and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.
- Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
- Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner recognizing an individual's religious, ethical, and moral opinion/belief.
- Uses standards of patient satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness.
- Follows universal precautions and OSHA standards.
- Performs other assigned duties as directed.

Job Title - Maintenance Technician -
Work Location - Hercules, CA - 7 AM to 3.30 PM - Monday to Friday
Pay - $42 - $45/hour
We are seeking senior Facilities / Utilities Maintenance Technicians to support a regulated manufacturing site during a potential labor disruption. Technicians will maintain and troubleshoot facility and utility systems supporting production and controlled environments, ensuring safe, compliant, and continuous operations. Candidates may come from electrical or mechanical backgrounds but must have strong experience with industrial utilities and building automation systems in GMP or cGMP environments
How You'll Make An Impact:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility and utility systems supporting manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems serving production and control rooms.
- Support building automation and monitoring systems, including Siemens APOGE, Assent Compass, Lab Watch, and Rees.
- Maintain utilities including CDA, nitrogen, chilled water, cooling water, hot water, steam, pure steam, RODI water, refrigeration, wastewater, and exhaust systems.
- Install replacement parts and new equipment per safety, engineering, and GMP requirements.
- Perform daily equipment rounds, record readings, and complete documentation.
- Maintain accurate CMMS documentation including work orders, job plans, and spare parts.
- Support audits, inspections, investigations, CAPAs, and change controls.
- Ensure electrical work complies with NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, NEC, and IEEE standards.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors.
- Respond to after-hours or emergency service calls as required.
What You Bring:
- High school/trade school diploma, GED, or equivalent (e.g., ITC/NTC and above). Associate degree in electrical or mechanical field preferred
- 6–10 years of Facilities / Utilities Maintenance experience
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, food processing, or other GMP/cGMP-regulated environments
- Hands-on experience supporting production-critical utilities
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience; Siemens APOGE strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Preferred / Value-Add Skills
- PLC troubleshooting experience (programming not required)
- Freeze-dryer / lyophilization support experience
- Universal Refrigeration Technician certification
- Experience supporting shutdowns, startups, or high-pressure operational environments
