Psychiatric Services Lead RN

The Psychiatric Services Lead Registered Nurse at Hope Network provides essential nursing services across multiple programs, ensuring alignment with program needs and model fidelity. This role combines strong psychiatric assessment and intervention skills with a Recovery-Based approach to support individuals in achieving wellness and independence.
Working collaboratively with psychiatrists and other providers, the Lead RN coordinates psychiatric and medical care, manages medication monitoring and supplies, and promotes trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally competent practices. In addition to clinical duties, the Lead RN oversees nurse scheduling, manages UKG and Compass systems, and conducts annual evaluations for assigned nursing staff.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide on-call nursing services 24/7 and respond to emergencies in Residential and Crisis Residential settings.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee each person’s individualized recovery process by supporting health management and clinical treatment.
- Document all care, contacts, and services provided within required timeframes.
- Provide or assist with medical and nursing care across various settings, including community-based environments.
- Participate in developing Treatment Plans and assist persons served in setting and achieving health-related goals.
- Identify and respond to medical or psychiatric crises using appropriate clinical interventions.
- Manage and monitor pharmaceuticals and medical supplies within the program.
- Conduct health screenings, perform health assessments, and oversee medication administration and monitoring.
- Prepare reports and support internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse or Bachelor Science in Nursing
- State of Michigan RN Licensure
- Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator license with driving records acceptable according to Hope Network policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
2. Train and Supervise Interns, COTAs and rehab aides in carrying out individual treatment plans.
3. Services provided will include, performing the ADL, IADL, and clinical evaluations and designing subsequent treatment plans. Generate appropriate treatment techniques, activities, and/or programs including but not limited to: Home accessibility, fabricating and monitoring adaptive equipment, UE orthotic devices, visual assessment and treatment, pre-driving assessment and training, functional mobility training, community integration, and family education from established functional goals. Possibly provide vocational adaptations in a variety of settings.
4. Ensure individual assessment and participation with goal identification, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plan. Treatment includes individual and group settings.
5. Completes timely documentation of daily treatment notes, progress reports at funding required intervals, initial evaluation, discharge summaries, pre driving assessment, home assessments, home programs, and consultation notes as indicated.
6. Monitor individuals’ progress and maintain accurate records of treatment through data collection and treatment reports as assigned.
7. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team for assigned individuals. Participates in individual goal development, coordination of services, discharge planning, and family education as needed
8. Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with all individuals.
9. Attends and verbally presents at team meetings, clinical reviews, staff meetings, and in-services. Attends department OT meetings. Participates in program development.
10. Complete non-billable activity to support treatment plan, interventions, staff education, family education, and interdisciplinary team goals. This can include but is not limited to evaluation and progress reporting, updating Care Plan Forms, inservicing caregivers/team members, developing specific compensatory supports/technology to best suit the patient for functional skills, collaborate with internal team members as well as external stakeholders, write letters of medical necessity, Annual Reviews, collaborate with vendors for DME needs for specific patients as well as departmental needs, and other tasks as needed to best support the patient achieving the highest level of independence.
11. Participate in marketing of OT services by promoting high quality control and customer service. Be liaison to the community for purposes of recruitment, program development, and community regarding our program.
12. Order individual specific treatment supplies and equipment for persons served or department.
13. May serve as a group leader for groups as assigned.
14. Supervise, train, and evaluate OT student fieldworks, Level I or Level II, after 1 year of employment.

Educational / Talent Requirements:
1. NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with certification
2. State of Michigan current licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
3. Valid NPI number and ability to become credentialed with Medicare and Commercial Insurances.
4. Ability to acquire CEUs and track documentation in order to support certification and licensure requirements.
5. Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable according to Hope Network policy.
Work Experience Requirements:
1. 2-3 years of work experience with Neurological disorders, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and/or Orthopedic injury preferred.
2. Work Experience in use of an EMR for documentation

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with Program Leaders, HR, Quality & Compliance, and other key stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate training programs for residential and clinical staff on nursing procedures. Provides parent education and training relative to developmental disabilities. Promotes and documents progress. Essential Functions The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position. An employee in this classification is responsible for carrying out the following functions: 1. Function independently and autonomously in providing early intervention services to infants, toddlers, and families. 2. Use a family-centered approach while integrating parent coaching into every session. 3. Provide evaluation addressing five major developmental domains including: cognitive, language, social, motor, and self-help skills. 4. Perform comprehensive neurological and physical assessment of infants and toddlers including muscle tone, range of motion, reflex development, and movement patterns. Required or Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of one years restaurant or retail experience, or combined experience and education.
- Experience with sales building, P&L statements, recruiting, and training.
- Proven track record of successful hiring and retention.
- Required when needed, the ability to work early morning, evenings, late night, weekends, and some holidays. Schedule demands may change.
- ServeSafe Certified
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
