Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical QA Inspector with semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing experience to support a large-scale fab construction project. This role is responsible for ensuring all electrical installations meet project specifications, NEC requirements, industry standards, and client quality expectations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in mission-critical facilities, cleanroom environments, or semiconductor fabs and a strong understanding of electrical quality control processes in large industrial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance inspections of electrical installations including:

Department Information
The Campus Engineering team exists to provide support to all aspects of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of campus facilities. Campus facilities include not only the buildings which are occupied by our students, faculty and staff, but it also includes central campus utility plants and the associated utility systems, including chilled water, steam, power, and natural gas
During the design process, first, our Team creates and maintains the design standards for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, and lighting. These standards are used by us, and by our outside consultants, to guide the design efforts of new buildings and renovation projects. Our team is also responsible for reviewing the design documents created by the consultants to ensure that their designs comply with standards.
During construction projects, our Team is often called upon to provide advice related to unforeseen conditions which are discovered during demolition work. We often provide a second review of material and equipment submittals, as well as shop drawings. On most campus construction projects, the day-to-day interaction with the contractor is managed by our co-workers within one of the Construction teams. However, on a few projects we may be called on to manage those day-to-day contractor activities.
Post construction, and throughout the life of the facilities, our team serves to provide advice to our Operation & Maintenance teams, and our Utilities Maintenance team, when a problem grows larger than their capacity. We also plan and prepare the way for projects to replace equipment as it nears the end of life. We are always looking ahead for opportunities to increase efficiency and resiliency in the systems.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This role encompasses all aspects of project management, technical specification, design, analysis, installation management, equipment start-up and manufacturing. Automation/Electrical engineers support the manufacturing processes and equipment in one or several manufacturing facilities by designing, specifying, purchasing and constructing Automated/Electrical systems (hardware and software) and components. WHAT YOU WILL DO
This position includes roles as the Lead Electrical Engineer and project manager for our Aviation Tire manufacturing facility, supporting efforts to design, build, install, maintain, and modify our manufacturing equipment.
- Create initial designs, assist to define functional specifications for new machines and systems, develop estimates and budget, assure procurement of parts and systems, monitors electrical equipment fabrication, conduct vendor/contractor management, deliver complete and current technical documentation, and oversee installation and startup of projects that range from simple modifications of existing machinery to large-scale expansion projects.
- Have hands-on involvement with equipment and processes by being available to the operators and maintenance personnel and gaining detailed knowledge of the process.
- Provide technical expertise in the maintenance, modification and installation of equipment and machinery in the tire manufacturing process, including technical assistance for problem solving analysis.
- Participate in all facets of project management including: Economic justification, design, vendors/procurement, installation, start-up, qualification, machine acceptance, training for operations & maintenance, project reviews and technical documentation.
- Provide liaison between facility engineering, central quality, methods and purchasing teams, and equipment suppliers to assure good mutual system requirement understanding.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering along with demonstrated successful project management experience. Associates degree with extensive experience may be considered.
Proven electrical design skills, and the ability to deal with electrical, electronic and mechanical tire manufacturing equipment.
Minimum of 5 years industrial electrical design experience, preferably in manufacturing/industrial equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision. The applicant must be able to develop positive relationships with customers.
Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated solid teamwork, communication, and planning skills required. Previous project management experience or team leadership experience is preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate with French counterparts on technical issues is preferred.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with outside contractors and equipment suppliers.
Experience with AutoCAD electrical latest version and PLC programming (i.e. Allen-Bradley) is required. Robot (Yaskawa), vision system (Keyence or Cognex), and Measurement (laser profilometer) experience is a plus.

- Maintaining database of all updated electrical production rates and pricing for reference. Including the latest industry changes and current market pricing on commodities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical systems (particularly medium voltage), their typical components, and installation procedures to accurately estimate the scope of projects and potential costs.
- Strong math and analytical skills to compile and analyze cost data, as well as calculate the time, materials, and labor necessary to complete a project.
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly present and explain electrical cost and interface in the entire estimate.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to understand complex blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimations.
- Problem-solving skills to adjust estimates and proposals in response to unforeseen project complications or changes in scope.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations is important. Familiarity with government standards is a plus.
- Experience with estimating software (HCSS preferred, Bluebeam and entire Microsoft Office programs
- Teamwork and collaboration skills to work closely with estimators, and other professionals involved in the project.
- Conduct research to locate and make contact with suitable vendors for various work features of each project. Initiate early communication to outside services and resources on key work activities or unique features of the project. Assist vendors by answering questions, clarifying information, performing and comparing quantity take-offs to identify the scope for the request for quotes, and providing them with updates on any amendments or changes. Analyze vendor scope of work and quotations for compliance with requirements and prepare detailed comparisons of multiple vendor quotes.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
Educational and experience requirements include: Two to four-year construction-related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related field experience. Experience in similar electrical construction estimating with proven estimating strategies and techniques, plus successful construction purchase order and subcontract contracts are necessary. Organizational and decision-making/problem-solving skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
