Job Purpose: Responsible for safely operating a vehicle (van or minibus) to pick-up and drop off children with acute medical conditions enrolled in the Pediatric Skilled Nursing (PSN) Program.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ability to successfully complete all required driver training prior to transporting PSN clients. • Comply with all driver and passenger record keeping requirements that include daily driver trip sheets, vehicle inspections, rider pickup and drop-off times, Title XIX (MTM Contract requirements) rider or physician documents plus parent or caregiver correspondence
• Aid clients / children with acute medical conditions when boarding and exiting vehicle
• Ensure the safety of all riders by use of their appropriate passenger restraining device inside the vehicle
• Provide minor vehicle maintenance when needed (replacement bulbs, checking fluid levels and tire pressure plus specified interval testing of all vehicle safety equipment and other approved tasks)
• Readily adjust to variable working conditions including adverse weather, traffic passenger challenges.
• Document all assigned vehicle activities for each day including odometer readings, fuel purchases, vehicle deficiencies as well as any other required information
• Maintain the vehicle's interior and exterior appearance
• Provide secondary transportation to other designated agency divisions for medical and social trip purposes.
• Attend departmental and agency-wide safety briefings and training sessions (both formal and informal) as required
• Works in partnership with the quality department to develop appropriate measures in support of program outcomes.
• Participate in department quality planning activities on continuous improvement, logic models, performance metrics.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license without limitations that are incompatible with duties & responsibilities and a motor vehicle record acceptable to program and/or contractual requirements.
• Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy if using your own vehicle.

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company building lasting relationships with our customers! The CDL-A Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

• Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Immediately reports all safety hazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Performs count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Checks and completes in an accurate and in legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.
• Moves tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule. Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas.
• Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy. Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collects money (cash or checks) where required.
• Loads customer returns on to trailer and secures trailer doors. Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.
• Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and bring to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork. Unloads all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
• Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable CDL-A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

• 
  
• 21+ years of age
  
• Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  
• License to drive - Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  
• Touch freight experience preferred May need to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 lbs. and as much as 100 lbs. repeatedly
  
• Flexibility Overtime as required, occasional weekends, and holidays as business needs require
  

Preferred Requirements:

This position is responsible for the safe transportation of industrial and commercial parts and large equipment to and from various customer job locations and branch stores, while adhering to company safety regulations and state laws. This position has major responsibilities to ensure external and internal customer satisfaction. Qualified driver has more than (5) five years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. Has a broad knowledge of the field's standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks; is self-starting and requires minimal supervision. Must have a valid Class A CDL with the proper endorsements.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:

• Transports all equipment deliveries and pickups in a positive, caring manner while striving for promptness, accuracy and efficiency
• Secures equipment onto truck and ensures that materials meet state and federal guidelines for safe transport and vehicle capabilities. Assists other departments whenever required in an efficient manner
• Completes DOT required drivers daily log accurately and without misrepresentation
• Completes driver's daily inspection report, making recommendations for repair or maintenance, as well as being responsible for the clean appearance of company assigned vehicle
• On an accurate and timely basis, completes and submits all related documentation in order to maintain the established business systems / process and ensures that the company is achieving its business goals. (I.e. Rental agreements, equipment check out and check in reports, return receipts, pick up receipts, non-movement, permits, etc.)
• Ensures that all physical resources (overall shop appearance, staging area, tools, parts, inventory, personal hygiene, etc.) are maintained in clean, working order in order to ensure a safe working environment and exceptional customer satisfaction
• Perform pre- and post- vehicle inspection; Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition, before, during, and after delivery trips
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Sound knowledge of industrial engine, transportation, and safe driving procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT guidelines
• Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Quality control analysis skills - conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
• Operation and control skills - controlling operations of equipment or systems Equipment selection skills determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
• Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems
• Ability to maintain a clean driver's record and diligent attention to safety - eLog
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair
• The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects
• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Education and Experience:

• Five years of verifiable heavy haul driving experience required, over eight years preferred
• Three years' verifiable driving experience operating a 7 or 8 axle configuration truck required, five or more preferred
• High school or equivalent diploma preferred
• Valid Texas Driver's License with Class A CDL required to include the ability to maintain the Valid Texas
• Texas Driver's License

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Travel: Travel up to 100%

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 100% of the time
• Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
• Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders
• Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
• Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

Work Environment:

• Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment
• Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
• Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions including extreme conditions such as heavy rain, wind, or excessive temperatures
• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
• Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment
• Significant time spent in confined spaces and/or high places
