Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Technician to support our construction materials testing and quality assurance operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of hot mix asphalt (HMA), Portland cement concrete, aggregates, and soils through both laboratory and field testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction materials testing and a strong understanding of industry standards and certifications.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Analysis

  • Perform sieve analysis on aggregates and soils to determine gradation and compliance with specifications
  • Conduct laboratory testing of HMA specimens, including:
  • Asphalt binder content using ignition oven
  • Bulk specific gravity (SG) of HMA
  • Maximum theoretical specific gravity of HMA
  • Density testing using Superpave gyratory compactor
  • Perform Proctor compaction tests on soil samples
  • Conduct fine and coarse aggregate specific gravity testing
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date lab reports, logs, and graphical data

Field Testing

  • Perform quality control testing on ready-mix concrete, including:
  • Slump testing
  • Air content measurement
  • Temperature checks
  • Unit weight determination
  • Monitor and document field conditions to ensure compliance with project specifications

Project Monitoring & Compliance

  • Support quality assurance efforts on DOT and FAA projects as required
  • Ensure materials and processes meet applicable regulatory and project standards
  • Communicate test results and quality concerns to project teams and supervisors

Quarry Operations Support

  • Monitor basic crushing and processing operations
  • Conduct sieve analysis and quality checks on produced aggregates
  • Assist in maintaining consistent material quality from quarry production

Preferred Qualifications

Reporting to the Executive Director of Adult & Family Literacy, the Program Manager of Reading for Adults is a reading science specialist, educator, and curriculum developer who advances Literacy Partners’ two-generation mission through high-quality instruction and a strong volunteer-supported model. This role provides high level Adult Education instruction and trains volunteers to provide tutoring. Additionally, the Program Manager of Reading for Adults analyzes program data to improve literacy outcomes, curriculum, optimize volunteer impact, and drive continuous program enhancement.

Key responsibilities


Lead Reading for Adults (RFA) Instruction


  • Serve as the lead instructor for emergent adult readers, delivering explicit, systematic reading science instruction that drives measurable growth in decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Classes are conducted virtually.
  • Design a virtual classroom culture that honors dignity, builds academic confidence, and positions adult learners as capable scholars and caregivers.
  • Own learner progress—using assessment, progress monitoring, and data to refine instruction and move students toward GED, workforce, civics and postsecondary pathways.


Co-Build the Instructional Engine


  • Member of the RFA curriculum design team, developing a clear scope and sequence aligned to reading science and adult learning theory.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The annual starting salary range for this position is $67,000 - $70,000.

As a Project Engineer, you will directly contribute to the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on sewer pipeline and manhole rehabilitation. This role offers the opportunity to function as a lead engineer and/or assistant project manager on complex sewer rehabilitation challenges.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Engineer and/or Design Manager with full technical responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of tasks for small or larger projects.
  • Preparation of contract specifications and drawings.
  • Planning, design and construction of new pipelines (pressure and gravity) and manholes or rehabilitation projects ranging in diameters and material type including condition assessment and prioritization and rehabilitation of existing pipelines.
  • Pipe design calculations to determine pipe size, pressure class, external loads including trench design, pipe joint selection, etc.

Responsibilities:
- Operate taxi cranes to lift and move materials and equipment on construction sites, industrial facilities, and other locations as needed.
- Interpret load charts and work orders to determine the appropriate crane configuration and lifting procedures for each job.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections of the crane to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any defects or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Safely rig loads and attach them to the crane using appropriate rigging techniques and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals, radio communication, or other means to coordinate crane movements.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property.
