The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians (ATNI), incorporated in 1953, is a member-led intertribal organization representing nearly 60 Tribal governments across the Pacific Northwest. Position Overview

The Manager of Events and Engagement shall lead the planning and execution of ATNI’s key convenings, including three (3) conventions annually, sector-specific summits, virtual meetings, and special events. Many of these events will take place in the Pacific Northwest, though there may be occasionally hosted National events. Working closely with members, partners, and internal teams, the Manager of Events and Engagement shall facilitate engagement strategies, support cross-organizational coordination, and lead communications related to events and sponsorships. Roles and Responsibilities

Event Planning and Execution (40%)

  • Lead the planning and execution of ATNI’s annual conventions, summits, committee meetings, virtual convenings, and special events.
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including venues, vendors, travel, lodging, registration, speakers, and on-site staffing.
  • Manage event timelines, budgets, and run-of-show agendas to ensure seamless delivery.

Position Overview

The Process Chemist will report directly to the Director of R&D Chemistry and will work in the P2 Process Lab that includes piloting and process optimization functions for transfer to Production. Responsibilities for this role will include planning experiments, operating the pilot reactors, and conducting downstream purification at the multi-kilo scale. The Process Chemist will also work on new process chemistry and reactor technology to advance next generation manufacturing technologies. All P2 employees must work in a safe and conscientious manner to ensure a healthy and productive work environment.


The ideal candidate possesses hands-on process chemistry experience, is comfortable working autonomously, and understands how to develop experimental protocols, operate advanced reactor technology, and maintain detailed records for production optimization.


Key Responsibilities

Process Development

  • Work with the Director of R&D to perform all work safely and in accordance with all P2 EHS objectives
  • Carry out continuous piloting campaigns on advanced reactor systems for process optimization and sample preparation
  • Conduct basic maintenance on equipment and recommend design improvements
  • Design experiments to advance optimization studies across all key variables, including safety, economics, and sustainability
  • Work to optimize downstream purifications to optimize for yield, purity, and waste reduction
  • Assist in the invention of development of next generation reactor technologies for biobased feedstocks

Tech Transfer

  • Work with the Director of Chemistry to prepared tech packages based on experimental data to transfer to production at P2’s manufacturing location(s)
  • Work with the Process Engineers and Operators to answer technical questions and assist in initial production campaigns
  • Help troubleshoot any production challenges, should they arise

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D to provide process feedback that informs new reaction development

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/chemical engineering with 0-5 years of post-graduate process chemistry experience

In this role you will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team and support key engineering efforts across FEED, detailed design, fabrication, and start-up, partnering closely with EPC contractors, technology partners, and internal R&D teams.

This role is ideal for a mid-career level process engineer who is eager to apply EPC discipline to emerging clean technologies, and help scale innovative gas-to-chemicals solutions to commercial reality.


Role Responsibilities:

●     Lead engineering efforts for FOAK systems from engineering design through commissioning, ensuring delivery

of safe, robust, and scalable process design

 

●     Provide technical leadership on core process engineering deliverables such as

○     Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

○     Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

○     Heat and Material Balances

○     Equipment datasheets and specifications

●     Execute and validate process simulations using Aspen HYSYS to support equipment sizing and system

optimization

 

●     Drive and support FEED and detailed engineering in collaboration with EPC firms, ensuring alignment with

project schedules, cost targets, and regulatory requirement

●     Support HAZOPs, PHAs, and other process safety reviews, integrating best practices into engineering design and

operation plans

 

●     Oversee the design, procurement, and integration of modular/skid-mounted process systems, ensuring fit-for-

purpose design and manufacturability

 

●     Provide hands-on technical support during FAT, commissioning, and start-up of pilot and demonstration

systems, including on-site troubleshooting and optimization

 

●     Assist development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), control philosophies, and start-up guides to

ensure safe and consistent plant operation

 

●     Work cross-functionally with R&D, operations, and business development teams to meet technical milestones

and customer-driven performance metrics

 

●     Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with EH&S standards and applicable codes (e.g., API,

ASME, NFPA)


Required Qualifications:


●     Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

 

●     5+ years of process engineering experience in EPC project environments, including FEED, detailed design, and

start-up

 

●     Proven experience in process scale-up, especially in novel or first-of-a-kind technologies, and working with

modular or skid-mounted systems

 

●     Deep understanding of gas processing, hydrocarbon separation, and reactor-based systems (preferably

methanol synthesis or syngas conversion)

 

●     Demonstrated ability to translate process requirements into industrial-grade engineering packages and work

effectively with multidisciplinary EPC teams

 

●     Strong hands-on experience with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS)

 

●     Field experience with plant commissioning, troubleshooting, and start-up

 

●     Knowledge of process automation, instrumentation, and control systems is a plus

 

●   Strong understanding of process safety, with experience conducting and implementing HAZOP

recommendations

Position Overview
