Responsibilities include:
Landscape Design:
- Develop customized landscape solutions based on client needs, preferences, and the environmental conditions of the project site.
- Create detailed site sketches to communicate design concepts to clients & designers.
- Select appropriate plants, hardscapes, and materials that complement the design and suit the client’s budget and aesthetic preferences.

Sales:
- Engage with potential clients to understand their landscaping needs and offer solutions that align with their goals and budget.

Consulting:

Estimating:

- Ensure that all estimates are detailed and precise to avoid cost overruns and ensure project profitability.

Education

About the Role

We’re looking for a Licensed Landscape Superintendent who can combine science, skill, and a sharp eye for weeds to help maintain beautiful, healthy landscapes for our clients. In this role, you’ll use your Washington State Commercial Pesticide Applicator license to safely and effectively manage weeds and plant health across lawns, athletic fields, ornamental beds, and other landscape environments.
You’ll be part detective, part plant health specialist, and part equipment operator—helping our landscapes look their best while protecting the environment and following strict safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your days will be spent outdoors helping landscapes thrive. Responsibilities include:
- Landscape Inspections: Identify weeds, pest issues, and treatment needs across turf, planting beds, athletic fields, and landscape areas.
- Precision Applications: Mix and apply herbicides, fungicides, and other approved pesticides according to label directions and Washington State regulations.
- Operate Spray Equipment: Safely calibrate and operate boom sprayers, backpack sprayers, and handheld applicators.
- Targeted Treatments: Apply treatments to lawns, ornamental beds, tree and shrub areas, hardscape cracks, and non-crop zones while minimizing drift and environmental impact.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed application records including products used, rates, weather conditions, and site information for regulatory compliance.
- Integrated Vegetation Management: Use a combination of chemical and non-chemical strategies to manage weeds responsibly.
- Landscape Support: Assist with mowing, trimming, and pruning when not performing applications.
- Safety & Compliance: Store, handle, transport, and dispose of pesticides according to state and federal guidelines.
- Equipment Care: Clean and maintain spray equipment to prevent contamination and ensure reliability.
- Team Leadership: Provide oversight and guidance to other spray applicators when needed.
- Client Communication: Work with clients, supervisors, and crew members to discuss treatment plans and results.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of 9th grade and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combinationof education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of landscape experience in a commercial or corporate environment, including installation, renovation, or multiphase outdoor project work.
Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, stump grinders, chainsaws, compactors, trenchers, or similar tools.
Familiarity with identifying plant materials and understanding proper planting techniques.
Knowledge of hardscape practices, including concrete repair, paver installation, or sitefurnishing installation.
Experience assisting with tree work (urban forestry), such as pruning, removals, or stump grinding.
Ability to work in extreme environments and collaborate with individuals from various backgrounds and experiences.
The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:
Knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment: Cleaning, preserving finishes, checking fluid levels, and lubricating.
Basic computer skills, including email.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this position include being exposed to various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. You will encounter fluctuating weather patterns and work in both wet and dry environments. This role also involves frequent exposure to high noise levels from equipment and machinery, as well as vibrations from the use of power tools. Additional environmental exposures include:
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Potential exposure to electrical hazards, particularly when working near or with electrical systems (e.g., lighting or irrigation systems).
- Atmospheric conditions, such as dust, pollen, and fumes from machinery, fertilizers, or chemicals, requiring proper safety measures.
- Risk of electrical shock when using certain power tools or working around electrical systems.
- Working on or near wet, slippery surfaces, or uneven terrain, which may increase the risk of slips and falls.
- Bee stings and other bug bites
