The concrete mixer truck driver safely operates a vehicle designed to manufacture, deliver and unload ready-mixed concrete to customer standard satisfaction. The mixer truck driver receives direction and work assignments from the designated dispatcher/plant manager. Deliveries are made to job sites with difficult and congested delivery unloading points. Work hours vary daily according to customer demand for product and services. Other duties may include truck and plant cleanliness which will require shoveling/sweeping.

A minimum of class B CDL is required.

Key responsibilities (essential duties and functions) include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works safely and efficiently
  • Safely maintain work area and vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the truck, including; rinsing drum before and after deliveries.
  • Collect money from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.
  • Ability to read a receipt, write details on the ticket, write down information from customer regarding ticket
  • Respond to customer questions related to basic product knowledge and basic concrete instruction.
  • Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance or repair issues
  • Utilize tablet, computer skills. Be able to follow GPS/reading map books.
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned, including truck or plant maintenance, truck and mixer-drum cleaning, sweeping, shoveling or assorted yard work while maintaining a safe work environment.

Position Overview: Graber Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Diver to join our team in Waunakee, Wisconsin. As a Diver, you will play a vital role in our local delivery operations, ensuring that our products are transported safely and efficiently to our customers within the local area. Responsibilities:
  • Local Product Delivery: Safely operate company vehicles to deliver manufactured products to local customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload products onto and off of delivery vehicles using proper lifting and handling techniques, ensuring that items are secured and protected during transit.
  • Route Planning: Efficiently plan delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency, taking into consideration traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
  • Product Inspection: Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer inquiries and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete delivery logs, receipts, and other required documentation, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and organized.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow established procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Maintenance: Assist in the routine maintenance of delivery vehicles, reporting any maintenance needs to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with the dispatch team, providing updates on delivery progress and any issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in delivery, driving, or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of local roads and routes.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS and other navigation tools.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Position Summary:

Responsible for driving delivery vehicles and/or operating truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. Adheres to driver safety/compliance regulations, delivers un-damaged goods on schedule, and provides professional service to customers. Drive vehicles weighing greater than 26,000 pounds and may tow vehicles or trailers less than 10,000 pounds.

What You'll Do:

  • May load or assist with loading and appropriately securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle.
  • Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site. Maneuvers vehicles into loading or unloading positions and ensures that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Assists customers with unloading materials safely and accurately. Takes all precautions to protect the product and the customer's property.
  • Verifies order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage and locations of deliveries. Checks items against invoice to ensure order accuracy.
  • Acts as a customer service liaison between the company and the site customer. Handles customer concerns and helps resolve issues as they arise.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles; performs routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines.
  • Required to use hand held devices, except for while driving, to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS.
  • Maintain hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures.
  • May perform credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork.
  • Operate a Forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials to designated areas.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, 21+ years old, valid driver's license and a class B CDL license. A minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience. 2 years of CDL driving experience strongly preferred.
