The Boeing Company is currently seeking Flight Simulation Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, and Senior) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The roles will involve software development for tools that support simulation infrastructure across Flight Simulation Labs. Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skillset, some of which could include:

• Creating core simulation infrastructure to serve as a jumping-off point for programs developing flight simulation capabilities

• Developing tools to simulate, monitor, and capture messages between subsystems in a lab environment

• Modeling various aircraft capabilities, including the ability to run constructive scenarios in a testing environment

Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist in integration of innovative technologies to maintain our platform’s dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. Additionally, our software engineers support the Flight Simulation products associated to our platforms.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

• Supports development of simulation environments to supporting testing performed by Mission Systems engineers

• Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals

• Executes and documents software research and development projects

• Works under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• 2+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada (or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience)

A Day in the Life of the Team Lead Staff Software Engineer

As a Senior Simulation Software Engineer, you will be part of the Simulation and Test Systems team. The Simulation and Test Systems team is responsible for building the infrastructure necessary to enable the development, test, and deployment of our autonomous aircraft software. You will work closely with the hardware-in-the-loop test environments, high-fidelity physics simulation stack, and cloud-based Monte-Carlo infrastructure to enable the millions of flight equivalent hours necessary to certify our aviation products.
