Job Responsibilities

The Pool Traveling Pharmacy TechnicianΒ 2 will be assigned a schedule to cover 3 locations in the Daytona area (Port Orange, Orange City and Ormond Beach). The Pharmacy Technician retrieves, counts, and measures drugs. Assists Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer. Performs Pharmacy calculations, such as days supply for insulins, etc. Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist. May operate a cash register. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Job description
This position requires the performance of all technical duties of a pharmacy technician. The employee will work under the direct legal supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacist manager. The position requires the ability to make critical decisions, facilitate stakeholder conflict resolution, work independently with minimal supervision, and solve problems. Three distinct areas of core responsibilities are defined:
- Processing, adjudicating, and filling retail prescriptions.
- Compounding non-sterile formulations per USP 795 guidelines (required)
- Compound sterile formulations per USP 797and 800 guidelines (required)
- Purchasing and inventory management
- Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Coordinates the effective operation of the technician workflow within the department.
- Participates in the quality assurance, performance improvement, and administrative activities of the department.
- Works in conjunction with the pharmacy supervisor to enforce all accountability standards outlined in current policies and procedures.
- Implements pharmacy objectives as determined by the pharmacy supervisory team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical assignments include:Β
- Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
- Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations
- Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband
- Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
- Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:Β
Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; ORΒ
Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; ORΒ

You qualify for the GL-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:Β
Experience: One year of specialized work experience that shows you have the skills necessary to:Β
- Make sound judgments and decisions in the use of firearms.
- Deal effectively with people in a courteous and tactful manner in connection with law enforcement matters.
- Analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions where you will be expected to make arrests after the completion of required training and apply these skills in a law enforcement capacity such as criminal code enforcement, determining violations of laws, correctional or rehabilitation work involving criminal offenders, security, military, etc.

Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency (includes protectorates as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.Β
Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Candidates must be referred for selection to the Border Patrol Agent position before reaching their 40th birthday in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Directive 251-03. The age restriction may not apply if you are currently serving or have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement (non-military)
The position requires full-time coverage for three weeks per month, working two weeks on and one week off.Responsibilities include shared rounding and inpatient cardiology consults with APP and physician support, from approximately 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Providers will also supervise stress testing and interpret EKGs, Holter/event monitors, stress tests, and echocardiograms.

Job Summary

Qualifications
High School graduate or general education diploma (GED) required.
Iowa: Effective July 1, 2010, all pharmacy techs working in Iowa pharmacies must be nationally certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). If enrolled in a technician training program, or not previously having worked as a pharmacy technician, must register as a pharmacy technician trainee within 30 days of starting technician training or employment. A technician trainee must become a nationally certified pharmacy tech within 12 months of starting tech employment or training. A pharmacy tech trainee who does not complete national pharmacy tech certification before expiration of the pharmacy tech trainee registration, must discontinue working as a pharmacy tech.
Minnesota: As of January 1, 2012 any individual registering for the first time as a technician needs to be 18 years of age or older. Must have active/current pharmacy technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. For new technician registrants, the individual must complete a Sanford provided (or equivalent) pharmacy technician training program within 12 months of registration with the board.
North Dakota: Pharmacy Technicians must register as a Pharmacy Technician or Technician in Training with the ND Board of Pharmacy, before beginning employment in the pharmacy. An applicant for registration as a pharmacy technician in training must register for Sanford provided (or equivalent) ASHP accredited education and obtain national certification approved by the board of pharmacy within the board of pharmacy's timelines. The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) are approved certification bodies. The registration as a pharmacy technician in training or pharmacy technician will continue as long as the applicant maintains a pharmacy technician-in-training or pharmacy technician license from the North Dakota board of pharmacy. South Dakota: Registration required within 30 days from the date of hire. Failure to obtain National Certification within two years of registering as a technician-in-training will result in termination of position. The Pharmacy Operations Manager may report to either Pharmacy Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Provides effective leadership to the Department of Pharmacy through the direct management of pharmacy employees and daily operations.
Identifies opportunities and needs for new or enhanced pharmacy services to support the mission of the organization and leads organizational and departmental performance improvement efforts to strengthen existing systems, processes, policies and procedures by introducing new ideas that lead to improved pharmaceutical care in clinical areas and in the pharmacy department as a whole.
Serves as an ambassador of the organization's vision and goals and the Pharmacy Department's role in achieving those by expressing ideas clearly and effectively (gaining agreement and/or understanding), adjusting language, terminology and style to the characteristics and needs of the audience as well as the venue for the communication.
Demonstrates excellence in personnel management by identifying strengths of team members and assisting employees in leveraging those strengths in their work.
Applies the appropriate financial concepts and tools to analyze situations and make financial decisions that support the achievement of short and longer-term departmental objectives.
Demonstrates personal effectiveness in leading the unit/team towards it goals and inspires a spirit of intra-team and inter-team cooperation.
Participates in projects resulting in contributions to pharmacy department, external publication and/or poster presentation for a local, regional, or national pharmacy association meeting.
Supports pharmacy residency programs, clerkship students and interns by precepting organized rotation including providing timely and constructive feedback, participating in training and orientation, mentoring, and collaborating on presentations and projects.
Maintains focus on all key stakeholders and supports the unit/team ability to deliver on all valid stakeholder expectations.
Assures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards relative to the acquisition, storage, handling, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and the provision of pharmaceutical care.
Identifies personal professional development needs and maintains a plan for continued growth.
If applicable, participation in the quality management program is expected with the goal of improving services by monitoring processes, analyzing data, implementing interventions to improve and evaluating the effectiveness of those interventions.
Responsibilities may include working to establish and maintain long and short term goals for the Quality Management Program; monitoring and documenting Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) for progress in meeting QI goals; and providing guidance and education to staff on Quality Management priorities and projects.
If applicable, as part of the program, the staff will uphold the quality of the Patient Management Program to include the development and reassessment of the program.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy OR Pharmacy Doctorate in Pharmacy Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency Program OR Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program and "3" years of practice experience in area of focus OR Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 Pharmacy Administration Residency Program OR 5 or more years of practice experience in area of focus in lieu of residency AND 2 or more years formal leadership role OR ASHP accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 Pharmacy Administration Residency Program Preferred Education and Experience Master's Degree Pharmacy, Health Administration or Business Administration Required Licensure and Certification Licensed Pharmacist
