The unpaid 8-week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in molecular diagnostics, specifically focusing on urinary tract infection (UTI) testing. The Molecular Diagnostics Intern responsibilities include:

Position Summary

The Tractor Test Driver & Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting structured test drives of new or serviced tractors to evaluate operational performance, safety, and overall product quality. This role identifies, documents, and communicates mechanical, functional, and quality-related issues observed during dynamic testing. The position collaborates closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Service teams to support root cause analysis and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform standardized and ad-hoc test drives of tractors on various terrains including paved surfaces, gravel tracks, fields, and slopes under varying load conditions and speeds.
• Evaluate and validate performance of critical systems including engine, transmission, PTO, hydraulics, steering, braking systems, 3-point hitch, auxiliary circuits, and implements.
• Identify and document issues related to NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), drivetrain irregularities, hydraulic lag or oscillation, steering drift, brake fade, electrical faults, sensor anomalies, and operator interface (HMI) defects.
• Conduct visual and functional inspections for leaks, loose components, misalignment, abnormal wear, sharp edges, fit and finish defects, and paint or coating issues.
• Use OEM diagnostic tools or data acquisition systems to verify CAN bus communication, read diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and capture operational data logs.
• Communicate findings and provide detailed reports to cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.
• Support root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions based on test results.
• Perform pre-operation safety inspections including checks of tires, fluid levels, lights, horn, ROPS, and seat belts.
• Recommend improvements to product design, assembly processes, and testing procedures based on operational observations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Agricultural Equipment Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating tractors or heavy/mobile equipment in agricultural, construction, industrial, testing, or service environments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate tractors with manual and hydrostatic transmissions.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, powertrain systems, and electrical systems.
• Experience with CAN diagnostics and reading diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

Working within assigned areas, performs on-going Planned Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of high-level diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment used throughout the healthcare facility.  Assists in the planning and installation of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment.

Responsible for maintenance, repair and servicing of specialized equipment in one or more of the following areas:  nuclear medicine, ultrasound, angiography, and radiation therapy as assigned by Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager.

Orders parts and supplies, within established departmental guidelines, that are required for the emergency service and repair  of all radiological and general medical equipment.  Recommend radiology related test equipment and spare equipment parts to the CE Manager.

Responsible for coordinating repairs with vendors and users when needed, this includes follow up paperwork and verification that issues are resolved.

Attends training session on equipment maintenance in order to keep up-to-date on technological and medical equipment advances.  Conducts in-service or coordinates training sessions to radiology clinical/professional staff on proper use and safety of advanced radiology equipment.  Also, provides assistance and training to Biomedical Equipment Techs I and II as assigned.

Provides on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis, as assigned.

Three or more years of equivalent experience performing corrective and planned  maintenance on nuclear medicine, diagnostic x-ray, therapeutic x-ray, ultrasound, or radiation therapy equipment, including but not limited to, R/F, Vascular/Specials, CT SIM, Mammography Units, PACS, Nuclear Cameras, 1st Look Cath Lab, CT etc.  Related experience operating complex testing equipment, including but not limited to high Voltage Bleeder or Dynalyzer, Densitometer, Non-Invasive KVp meter, etc.

Must possess specialized training by manufacturer or third party equipment repair in such areas as nuclear medicine, diagnostic x-ray, therapeutic x-ray, ultrasound, or radiation therapy equipment.

Must possess working knowledge of radiation physics, medical terminology, medical instrumentation, anatomy, physiology, imaging service techniques, 21 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations).

Must possess broad knowledge and understanding of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, EOC, FDA and other specific regulations and standards pertaining to clinical and radiology equipment service and repair.

Working within assigned areas, performs on-going Planned Maintenance (PM)and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of high-level diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment used throughout the healthcare facility.  Assists in the planning and installation of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment.

Meets target objectives and standards for timeliness and quality of Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules and repairs of general and specialized clinical equipment. 

Responsible for maintenance, repair and servicing of specialized equipment in one or more of the following areas:  CT, MRI, PAC’s, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, angiography, and radiation therapy as assigned by Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager.

Orders parts and supplies, within established departmental guidelines, that are required for the emergency service and repair  of all radiological and general medical equipment.Recommend radiology related test equipment and spare equipment parts to the CE Manager.

Responsible for coordinating repairs with vendors and users when needed, this includes follow up paperwork and verification that issues are resolved.

Attends training session on imaging equipment maintenance and technology in order to keep up-to-date on technological and medical equipment advances.  Conducts in-service training sessions to radiology clinical/professional staff on proper use and safety of advanced radiology equipment.  Also, provides assistance and training to Biomedical Equipment Techs I, IIand  Senior Biomed as assigned.

Provides on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis, as assigned.

Maintains high level of customer satisfaction as demonstrated by customer satisfaction surveys.

Participates in teamwork by:   Keeping others informed.  Initiating group decision-making. Working to accomplish team objectives and projects.  Seeking feedback about one’s effectiveness as a team member.

Assumes minor extra duties, including work normally assigned to Biomedical Equipment Technicians.

May be assigned duties as Lead Biomedical Equipment Technician or other duties as assigned or required.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Minimum of Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in related field of medical electronics, electronic technology, imaging service technology or equivalent related military training and experience.  Certified Radiology Equipment Service (CRES) preferred but not required.

Five or more years of equivalent experience performing corrective and planned maintenance on nuclear medicine, diagnostic x-ray, therapeutic x-ray, ultrasound, or radiation therapy equipment, including but not limited to, R/F, Vascular/Specials, CT SIM, Mammography Units, PACS, Nuclear Cameras, Cath Lab, CT, etc.  Related experience operating complex testing equipment, including but not limited to high Voltage Bleeder or Dynalyzer, Densitometer, Non-Invasive KVp meter, etc.

Must possess specialized training by manufacturer or third party equipment repair in such areas as CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, diagnostic x-ray, therapeutic x-ray, ultrasound, or radiation therapy equipment.

Must possess working knowledge of radiation physics, medical terminology, medical instrumentation, anatomy, physiology, imaging service techniques, 21 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations).

Must possess broad knowledge and understanding of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, EOC, FDA and other specific regulations and standards pertaining to clinical and radiology equipment service and repair.

Maintain up-to-date understanding of The Joint Commission and NFPA standards as well as state and federal regulations.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex information related to malfunctioning imagining equipment as described by clinical staff, then determines equipment operational condition.  Follow complex written instructions, perform tasks and document actions taken to restore service.

Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

We’re seeking a hands-on Test Technician with a solid technical foundation and strong troubleshooting abilities to support our electronic product testing operations. The ideal candidate will have formal training, certifications, or education in electronics and a working knowledge of Ohm’s Law, schematic reading, and electrical power systems. This role focuses on real-world testing, debugging, and validation.

Job Duties:

• Conduct electrical and electronic tests to verify performance, functionality, and compliance with production quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues at the component, board, and system levels using schematics and test equipment.
• Develop, maintain, and improve test and burn-in processes to ensure reliability and throughput.
• Review and update process specifications and documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with current practices.
• Monitor yields and identify root causes of test failures, coordinating corrective actions with engineering and quality teams.
• Support the design, setup, and validation of new test fixtures, jigs, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform firmware flashing, system configuration, and multi-unit hardware interconnects (Ethernet/BNC/twisted pair).
• Set up and test complex disk arrays or power distribution assemblies as required.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for all test equipment.
• Drive recovery and repair efforts for any downed test or burn-in stations, coordinating across maintenance and engineering teams.
• Assist with new product introduction (NPI) by supporting test development and validation activities.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent military/electronics training required.
• Strong understanding of Ohm’s Law, circuit fundamentals, and electrical schematics.
• Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electronic or electrical systems.
• Proficiency with meters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
• Experience with power electronics or high-voltage systems is a plus.

Notifies equipment users and Clinical Engineering Management of repair status and delays as necessary.

Interacts with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational problems in scheduling and completing PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital departments.

Determines need for replacement parts and supplies, selects the most cost effective source, and submits properly completed parts request using established policies and guidelines.

Completes corrective and planned maintenance work order documentation per policy.

Follows the guidelines for radiation safety while imaging gently. Delivers a high level of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.
