Luke's West Region, Geisinger St.
Luke's, Miners and Carbon Campuses.
The Registered Cat Scan/Radiology Technologist performs various CT Scans and assists the Radiologist during performance of invasive procedures for diagnostic purposes.
In addition, performs diagnostic radiographic procedures adhering to the principle of radiation protection, according to local, state and federal standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly assists Radiologist during all aspects of invasive procedures and performs CT scan examinations as directed by the Radiologist Properly identifies patient and exam and performs diagnostic radiographic services on patients with the maximum amount of care, while evaluating the technical quality Communicates clinical observations during CT scan examinations to Radiologist Presents clinical history as recorded on appropriate documentation to Radiologist Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate to their job responsibilities Injects contrast for CT Scans in accordance with department policy.
Patient CT questionnaire is completed for each patient and reviewed prior to start of exam Performs 3-D imaging functions Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate equipment and chart information.
Sitting for up to 5 hours in 30 minute increments.
Standing and walking for up to 3 hours in 15 minute increments.
Pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients up to 400 pounds with assistance.
Occasional stooping, lifting and raising arms above shoulder level.

EDUCATION: PA CANDIDATE: Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered.
Advanced registry in CT required within 1 year of hire date.
NJ CANDIDATE: Graduate of an ARRT recognized School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT registry is required.
A.A.S.
Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
1 year of experience is required, two years or more of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting preferred.
Current state license (NJDEP) and appropriate registry (ARRT) is required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Recent CT Scan experience preferred.
Advanced CT registry required within one year of hire.
Current BLS certification within three months of hire.

Job Duties Responsible for supporting clinical research as coordinator for multiple research studies and clinical trials within inpatient and outpatient care units.

Serves as a liaison between the principal investigator and the study sponsor for adapting a multi-center protocol to the specific local environment.

Job Summary Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes.
A CT technologist performs computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures and acquires and analyzes data needed for diagnosis, interpretation, and the performance of interventional and therapeutic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
CT Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of computed tomography.
CT technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.
Job Duties Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.

The multidisciplinary team in the Ambulatory Procedures Unit (APU) or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) specializes in and provides quality care for a broad range of surgical procedures.
Procedure acuity is also broad and can include patients going home the same day to patients needing to stay inpatient for a recovery period.
The patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric.
In APU/ASC strong relationships with the patients and their families are built through compassion, empathy and extensive teaching.
