St. Luke?s University Health Network, the region?s largest, most established health system, a major teaching hospital, and one of the nation?s 100 Top Hospitals is seeking a Network Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine manage and oversee the Network?s first pediatric emergency department and pediatric emergency medicine initiatives. The Network Director will be responsible for developing, leading, administrating, and supervising all aspects of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine program.

The Network Director will have dedicated time for administrative, educational, strategic, and research initiatives and provide oversight and growth of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine program. This will include oversight of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Department based at St. Luke?s Bethlehem Campus as well as expansion of pediatric care initiatives at the remaining campuses? emergency departments. In addition, the Network Director will be expected to maintain a clinical practice with allocated time to develop and lead the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Program.

About the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics:

• Robust 14 hospital Network spread over a diverse geographic area providing emergency care for over 320,000 patients annually.
• Lehigh Valley?s first and only 4-year medical school
• Identified as a 100 Top Major Teaching Hospital from IBM Watson Health 9 times total and 7 years in a row, including in 2021 when it was identified as the #1 Teaching Hospital in the country.
• St. Luke?s emergency medicine includes comprehensive stoke centers, 4 PCI centers, a level 1 trauma center, a level 2 trauma center and four level 4 trauma centers with a fifth level 4 trauma center with our partnership at our Geisinger-St. Luke?s Hospital in Orwigsburg, PA.
• In addition to patient care, the emergency department also supports and trains emergency medicine residents at two separate emergency medicine residencies. We currently have an emergency medicine residency with 12 residents per year at St. Luke?s University Hospital - Bethlehem. Our second residency at our Anderson Campus will welcome its second class this year with 10 residents per year of a three-year residency.
• The Department of Pediatrics consists of inpatient, specialty care, and primary care providers across a verity of practice locations. A pediatric residency welcomed the first class in July 2023.
• Growing pediatric specialty department currently spanning 14 pediatric subspecialties and continuing to expand in both depth and breadth of services. A new freestanding Pediatric Specialty Center opened in May, fully dedicated to pediatric services.
• The most robust and highest volume OB program in the region with a strong maternal and fetal medicine program which delivers nearly 5,000 babies per year.

Job Description: Assists surgeon with procedures related to the care of patient of all ages during surgical intervention.

Assists in the coordination of treatments with other disciplines.

Provides basic patient assistance.

Connects patients to clinical equipment as needed.

Practices aseptic techniques while preparing for surgery including scrubbing, applying surgical gown, gloving, draping and setting up instrument table.

Actively participates in surgical Time and out and operating room briefing according to the universal protocol.

Position Highlights: Sign-On Incentive: Up to $15,000 for qualified candidates Team Culture: Work in a collaborative and supportive environment Schedule: Full-time union position (40 hours/week)- 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with rotating start times (6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 8:00 AM) On-Call Rotation: Includes weekends and holidays.

On-call responsibilities typically occur every 7th weekend, 4 weekdays per month, and 1–2 holidays per year.

A 30-minute response time is required when on-call.

You'll work alongside gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, nurses, technicians, and coordinators to deliver tertiary-level care in a community setting.

Key Responsibilities: Assist providers during GI endoscopic procedures Administer medications, IV therapy, and conscious sedation Monitor patients during and after procedures Collect and prepare lab specimens Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery Lead and support other clinic nurses and technicians Maintain and inspect medical equipment and supplies Position Details W ork is ty pically performed in a clinical environment.

Job Duties The Hematology/Oncology RN assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient.

Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction.

Exhibits compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions.

Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff.

Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in their assigned nursing unit.

Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.

Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards including patient and family education with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Provides direct patient care including, treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.

Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork.

Accesses implanted venous access devices for labs and infusions.

Inserts, monitors, regulates and discontinues IV's as required by provider.

Administers and disposes of chemotherapy as required by regulatory guidelines.

Documents administration of chemotherapy.

Administers and follows related research protocols.

Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.

Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members and acts to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.

Problem solves, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.

Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence- based practice.

Actively participates as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and is accountable for unit and system specific metrics.

Actively participates in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
