This position is at our Seco Machine location where we are a leading manufacturer of components for the railroad industry. This role is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications and production standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading blueprints, and a commitment to safety and precision.
Responsibilities / Job Duties:
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC mills and lathes, as well as conventional and specialty machine tools.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and scales to perform setups and verify part accuracy.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, manuals, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements.

Position Overview
The VDC Project Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing construction planning through accurate coordination and quality by integrating reality capture technologies and digital workflows. This position leads the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM), field technology, and model-based processes to enhance coordination, precision, and efficiency across all phases of the project lifecycle. The VDC Project Manager collaborates closely with preconstruction, operations, and field teams to ensure that models, data, and technology are seamlessly aligned with project delivery and on-site execution.
Assigned Responsibilities
- Develop and implement companywide VDC standards and templates.

At Precision Castparts Corp., this position plays a key role in producing highly engineered, tight-tolerance components used in aerospace, power generation, and energy applications — with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC Lathes and automated machining cells (DMG Mori EcoTurn 450, DMG Mori NLX 2500/700, Hardinge, Takisawa)
- Prepare fixtures, load tooling, and set offsets for production runs
- Load, run, and make basic edits to CNC programs at the machine
- Run production and repeat jobs while maintaining quality standards
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision tools
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain tolerances and part quality
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop travelers, and work instructions
- Verify prior operations are complete before starting new processes
- Troubleshoot basic machining or program issues as they arise
- Collaborate with supervisors, leads, and quality teams to ensure production goals are met

What We’re Looking ForRequired:
- 1+ years of CNC machining and setup experience
- Experience with CNC Lathes
- Ability to read blueprints and follow shop travelers
- Basic understanding of G & M codes
- Experience with setups, tooling, and offsets
- Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, mics, gauges)
- Basic shop math (fractions, decimals, measurements)
- Ability to read and write English
- Safety-focused and reliable
