The primary focus of this position will be to support the Engineering Department in the production and maintenance of equipment, tools and fixtures designed for production processes across various manufacturing departments. Under minimal supervision, set up and operate manual and programmable machines normally found in a manufacturing environment. Interprets engineering drawings, prints, sketches and verbal instruction. Is capable of machining various different materials and delivers parts to established specifications.
Essential Job Description:
- Sets up and runs Manual Lathes
- Sets up and runs Milling Machines (Bridgeport or other)
- Sets up and runs surface grinder
- Reads and interprets blueprints
- Properly use all types of micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to measure/verify depth, blade, ID, OD, etc.
- Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts and tooling.
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machines.
- Has a passion for suggesting improvements, working with people to enhance productivity across manufacturing departments as a direct result of work they do
- Utilizes and abides all safety procedures.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
- Shares knowledge and mentor's junior and other co-workers
- Must comply with ITAR employment
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication and understanding of job instructions both verbally and written.
- Problem solving skills to identify potential issues and fix errors.
- Attention to detail with precision equipment and product.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Milling Machine Experience a must (Bridgeport or other)
- Ability to perform advanced mathematical computations (trigonometry and geometry) is a plus
- Understands and interprets CNC programs when needed is a plus.
- Understands and can perform tool wear offsets is a plus
- Skills to maintain extremely tight tolerances (as low as 0.001\") is a plus
- CNC Experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- English language Skills are a must (Ability to read and speak), bi-lingual is a plus
- 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with small assembly production processes, precision manufacturing is a plus
- Experience as a manufacturing technician performing secondary machining operations is a plus

What You’ll Do
- Work with the team to help monitor inventory levels and communicate status on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance with licensed guidelines and expectations.
- Maintain outfitting tool and other merchandising tools, pin or boost products based on inventory and product launch plans
- Ensure that product is reflected accurately on the website (product descriptions, size guides, product titles, categorizations etc.) by QA’ing site daily

- Be in tune with go to market strategies and merchandise accordingly

- Maintain strong understanding of customer experience data (abandoned cart, top products, AOV, etc.) and implement educated merchandising strategies

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field

THE OPPORTUNITY:
This Engineer will be responsible for completing the automation portion of capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as Plant technical support, enabling the plant to meet its Market, Safety, Productivity, and Quality goals. They will also complete design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment and lead the installation, commissioning and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provide detailed electrical design and automation programming for assigned projects.
Provide estimates and technical schedules for all phases of process equipment addition, replacement or upgrade.
Provide backup support and training to plant maintenance teams on new automation systems that they implement.
Collaborate with internal company support groups to accomplish objectives and provide contract engineering management and direction when needed.
Participate in assigned major capital projects and/or modifications from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance.
For customer projects, manages the design studies for industrial electrical equipment, and low/high voltage electrical installations that are necessary for the success of the Plant's capital projects. She / he will ensure adherence to the customer's specifications, local regulations, compliance of performance, and costs.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Bachelors in Electra-mechanical, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience in the field
Preferred minimum of at least 3 years of Engineering experience
Minimal travel, 5-10% maximum (vendor machine acceptance, support of local facility)
Experience with electrical design standards and able to complete controls systems designs using standard CAD design tools
Experience with PLC programming standards & programming software, including GRAFCET, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text. Specific experience with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens is a plus.
Experience with Variable Frequency drives and Motion Control technologies. Specific experience with Rockwell, Siemens and Control Techniques is a plus.

Coordinates information flow between corporate and local/regional teams.

Owns Corrective and Preventive Actions related to the product(s) core team(s) supported, using sound root cause analysis.

May represent Technical Services on new product development and/or lifecycle management core teams.

May independently plan, schedule and lead cross-functional teams in detailed phases of the engineering work in a project.

May approve the work of lower level engineers; may supervise other engineers or technicians Minimum Qualifications: 1.
Must be well versed in core engineering disciplines (e.g.
mechanical, electrical, software, systems engineering).

Highly motivated self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision.

Must have good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, good time management, and be capable of analyzing and solving technical problems through innovative thought and application of sound engineering principles and root cause analysis.

Experience with change control methodologies and configuration management principles is a plus.
5.
Experience with test engineering and/or reliability engineering principles is a plus.
6.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and draw conclusions based on available information.
7.
Good understanding of GMP and quality system requirements.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in a core engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, software, systems, or mfg/process engineering) plus 3-5 years of experience.
Medical device experience or other regulated industry experience preferred.
Experience in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools highly desirable.
