- San Antonio VAMC The San Antonio VAMC provides comprehensive acute hospital care, including medicine, surgery, and psychiatry.
Other specialty hospital programs include rehabilitation medicine, spinal cord injury, substance abuse, dental, and a restorative nursing home care program.
There are numerous outpatient programs, including home care, community nursing home care, community residential care, adult day health care, a day treatment center, Women Veterans Health, care to homeless Veterans with serious psychiatric problems and services to veterans with severe visual problems.
Facility Address: 7400 Merton Minter, San Antonio, TX 78229 RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) Emergency physicians shall provide immediate medical evaluation, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral of patients who present for care in the ED.
"Present for care" includes patients referred to the Emergency Department by other medical providers in the VA Healthcare Facility system (such as outpatient clinics, outlying clinics, ED Fast Track, inpatient, etc.).
Shall provide professional advice to other VA providers with regard to professional management of patients in their fast-track portion of the Emergency Department as well.
Shall cover the range of emergency room care typically provided in an urban civilian practice of similar size.
The following list is an example of the types of cases, but is not all-inclusive: Major trauma, including fractures of multiple extremities, stab wounds, open wounds of the chest and abdomen, head trauma, suspected spine injuries, lacerations, amputations.
Major medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, shock.
Obstetrical emergencies such as deliveries of single or multiple births, acute pregnancy complications, vaginal bleeding.
Pediatric emergencies, including neonatal resuscitations.
Acute psychiatric problems, including suicide attempts.
Lower-acuity complaints including viral illnesses, other infections, minor orthopedic problems, minor trauma, alcohol abuse (i.e.
"urgent care" patients).
Other miscellaneous medical problems both acute and chronic.
REQUIREMENTS Unrestricted license to practice medicine in any other U.S.
State or Territory.
ABEM-Certification is preferred, but other Board Certifications are acceptable (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine certification) with no less than 2 years full-time ER experience in a high-volume ED.
Must be MD or DO and be capable of treating patients of all ages.
Must have and maintain current certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS by way of an American Heart training program (AHA or Red Cross).

AileyCamp Miami is a summer day camp where middle school students are immersed in dance as a physical activity that, in addition to expanding aesthetic awareness, fosters athletic ability and skills demanded. As a result, campers increase confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills and enjoy a variety of social activities. Each summer up to one hundred students, who reside in Miami-Dade County and are currently enrolled in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade (ages 11 to 14) at a Miami-Dade County Public School at the time of application, are selected. Prior dance training is not a consideration for admission.
