Job Summary

This position provides software quality assurance services for projects and systems. The role is responsible for supporting product validation activities for new and modified applications and ensuring that software products meet defined quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of deliverables including defining, performing, and documenting product validation for new and/or modified applications.
  • Investigate operational and process problems in collaboration with engineering and technical personnel.

  • Witness's first piece part production and certifies acceptability; observes and performs in-process inspection during component build-up and sub-assembly stages; performs final assembly inspection and observes testing operations to assure quality, workmanship and strict compliance with Arrowhead, military space and commercial specifications and standards.
  • Inspects incoming metallic and fiber materials, plastic and rubber compounds for correct formulation call- out, serialization, identification, cure date and shelf life; verifies vendor and material certifications; checks heat codes, batch and lot numbers to assure product tractability; certifies the proper mixing and blending of bonding agents and adhesives. Inspects reinforced plastic and rubber products for delaminating, blisters, porosity, bond, elasticity, gauge surface smoothness and similar defects or characteristics. Checks configuration and part dimensions with or without the aid of assembly check gauges, fixtures and tooling. The NDT Quality Inspector verifies that precision machined parts, assemblies, and components meet engineering specifications by applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Performs NDT inspections of incoming and in-process materials using radiographic and dye penetrant testing techniques. Record in SAP and on quality records the status of inspection of all assigned parts. Interface appropriately with all external and internal customers and suppliers, including source inspectors. Ensure product quality, workmanship, conformance to all applicable processes, requirements, and regular regulatory standards in accordance with the established quality assurance system.

Quality Control Inspector III/ CMM Programmer
Overview:
The Quality Control Inspector/Programmer is responsible for visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. This role inspects parts to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), work orders, industry standards, and specifications. The inspector may report detailed inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer with shipments.
Minimum Required Qualifications :
  • Technical school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience with Mechanical / Electronic part inspection in a manufacturing or production Environment.
  • Experience in quality with machined / mechanical parts using GD&T interpretation, able to do programs for automatic inspection with Optical Vision Systems and CMMs. plus. Able to use Profilometers and special Microscopes for visual characteristics with other measuring tools and instruments.
  • Knowledgeable with AS9102 FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) documentation and Inspection.
  • Familiar with AQL, sampling methods and traceability.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
  • Strong computer literacy, with MS Office/PC expertise and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.

Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities :
  • Train other inspection personnel on CMM software and manual measurement techniques.
  • Perform Mechanical measurements and visual quality assessments of received items, work-in-progress and finished goods.
  • Performs 1 st Piece Inspection on machined parts and inspection for product Quality Analysis.
  • Inspect with thread gages, GO/NO-GO plug gages, V-Blocks, Gage Blocks, height stands, dial indicators, various types of ID/OD micrometers, inspection of thread Pitch Diameter with special gages.
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection, evaluate history of product and recommend on Sample Size as per an AQL
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments
  • Interact with source inspector as needed and part-take in source inspection duties if necessary.
  • Read, understand and interpret Mechanical/Electronic drawings.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and physical measurement of the product., rejecting if necessary and processing part thru to the next step.

ProSidian seeks a Lean Six Sigma Quality Improvement Specialist - Master Black Belt [Full Time] located at The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), located at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) to support an engagement for a Fed. Gov Agencies that provide Aviation Administration and Logistics support to US Govt. Agencies. The Fed. Gov Agency supports a broad range of systems, consisting of thousands of individual pieces of equipment in the Facilities, Surveillance, Navigational Aids, Automation and Communications, Weather Systems and other agencies. In support of National Airspace System systems and other equipment, The Aviation Transportation Agency also provides configuration management, hardware and software documentation, modification(s), field support, systems, and acquisition support. Because The Aviation Transportation Agency Groups/Product Divisions provide technical support and supply support to the National Airspace System (NAS) field facilities and other government agencies, the work to be performed is primarily in support of aircraft guidance systems, surveillance equipment, automation and communications systems and technical data.

The ideal candidate shall work to support requirements as a Lean Six Sigma Quality Improvement Specialist - Master Black Belt [Full Time] and provide support for ProSidian Engineering Services and stakeholders and projects of The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC). Provide Quality Improvement services, using Lean Six Sigma methodology and techniques, to the FAALC. Clients by functioning, as necessary, as a project manager, facilitator, consultant, and analyst. The Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt facilitates the assessment of problems, the compilation and analysis of data, the development of improvement teams, the design and collections of metrics, and the facilitation of improvement efforts.

Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt using Lean, Value-Based Care Redesign, and other appropriate improvement approaches to not only support performance improvement, but to implement the active daily management approach to sustain performance. Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt supports continued execution and development of the \"ProSidian Way,\" which focuses on goal setting, alignment with People strategies, Dashboards, Lean / Performance Improvement activities, and Active Daily Management-including development of standard work, daily critical-to-quality metrics, visual management, rounding schedules, and huddle approaches. Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt supports continued execution and development of ProSidian Value Based Actions Initiative, which focuses on improving operational outcomes, the patient experience, and reducing cost to support our quality, capacity, and growth objectives.

Tasks may include but shall not be limited to items such as the following: a. Work with champions and senior leaders to identify, select and scope Quality improvement projects. b. Conduct Quality improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methods and techniques to improve current and future processes. c. Facilitate teams, consisting of process owners, to develop Value Stream Maps of current processes eliminating any non-value added steps within these processes. d. Develop and/or revise metrics to measure improvement in the FAA Logistics Centers processes. e. Report status of Quality improvement projects to Senior Leaders.

  • Identify and implement enterprise wide process improvement activities utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma, Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) or similar methodologies to support business infrastructure and procurement of new business opportunities
  • Support the development, prioritization and execution of performance improvement projects utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma, PDSA or similar methodologies for all process improvements
  • Assist with the implementation and training of functional areas regarding process engineering maintenance plans and staff trainings to improve effectiveness
  • Collect, monitor and evaluate project key performance metrics and develop project status reports
  • Facilitate cross functional improvement teams following DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze Improve Control) roadmap or similar improvement process
  • Communicate gaps in process designs and implementations to upper management and support requirements for compliance, quality, and continuous improvement
Qualifications

a. Experience (All levels). Experience across a broad spectrum of business, plant manufacturing or engineering operations. Successfully led a Lean Six Sigma/process improvement team. Proven ability as a project manager with multiple industrial, logistics or manufacturing repair Lean Six Sigma projects successfully completed. Proven ability to facilitate, influence, motivates and inspires, persuade, and negotiate with individuals and groups.

b. Knowledge (All levels). Knowledge of and successful completion of the criteria for a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Black Belt or Green Belt. Knowledge of the Six Sigma tools and methodology, with the ability to apply this knowledge over a broad spectrum of processes
