Position SummaryLoad and deliver lime slurry to the customers. Complete pre/post inspections on equipment to ensure DOT regulations are met. We have a pool of drivers hauling product from various terminals and Porta Batch production sites to the customer.
Responsibilities & ExpectationsDeliver slurry shipments in a safe and timely manner.
Operation and Maintenance of Equipment:- Read and interpret various gauges and instruments used in loading and handling equipment.
- Analyze and evaluate work conditions and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Perform equipment inspections in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Make minor repairs to equipment as needed to maintain fleet operation.
- Ensure the DOT, safety, TCEQ, and environmental regulations are followed.
- Educate and train the local contractors in the safe handling of quicklime/slurry, and cover emergency medical procedures in case of accidental exposure.
- Must have a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (N).
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, fleet equipment, and excellent fleet mechanical skills.
- Ability to maneuver fleet equipment in heavy city traffic and remote job locations.
- Maintain concentration, alertness and attention to detail for an extended period.
- Ability to resolve issues with limited supervision.
- Occasional shift work, including some weekends and holidays.
- Be available or volunteer for occasional out of state deliveries.
- Tolerate working outside in weather conditions as well as exposure to warm temperatures, noise, and lime dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 50 feet, confined spaces, and climbing ladders or stairs.

Route Details:
Dedicated Account located in Tar Heel, NC. This is a home weekly account with consistent routes and schedules - all no-touch freight. Deliveries will be to different locations within 300 miles of Tar Heel that drivers can return home from 2-3 times per week. Office staff and maintenance team on site. Evening shifts with available start times between 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, either Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday. Night driving will be required.
Drivers must have reliable transportation, as trucks cannot be taken home. Drivers will operate both 12-hour local shifts and weekly OTR runs 2-3 times per week, based on customer needs. The schedule will require drivers to work weekends and all holidays. The driver will need to operate on the weekends and all holidays. Average 1,500 miles per week.
