Position title:

Salary range:
The compensation model varies depending upon the course delivery format. For a synchronous Live Online course, a reasonable estimate for this position is $3,000 -$4,000 total per course. For an asynchronous Start Anytime Online course, this position is paid $165 per final student course grade submitted each month; a reasonable estimate ranges from $660 - $21,285 total per course; and monthly payments typically begin within 6 months after the course start date. Instructor compensation is determined by course length, number of units, enrollment, budgetary considerations, and other factors.

Percent time:
Part-time by agreement on a course-by-course basis.

Anticipated start:
Some appointments may begin as early as the spring semester.

UC Berkeley Extension (UNEX), the continuing education branch of the University of California, Berkeley, has been building bridges between UC Berkeley and the public since 1891. UNEX serves the professional and continuing education goals of thousands of people each year and plays an essential part of the University mission to: extend the research and scholarship of UC Berkeley to a global community; increase access to higher education for non-traditional, online, and international students; and improve the workforce. General Duties

The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Specific duties and expectations will vary depending on the method of instruction including: Synchronous Live Online (Zoom); or Asynchronous Online (Start Anytime).




  • For synchronous instruction (live online courses), duties include but are not limited to: syllabus development; assignment development; lesson planning for class meetings; preparing and submitting required texts and course materials; reviewing and updating Canvas course site; and delivering lectures, presentations, and learning activities for all required hours of instruction.
  • For asynchronous instruction (start anytime online courses), duties include but are not limited to: reviewing the syllabus and pre-populated online course content; learning and utilizing Canvas classroom management tools; and requesting any training needs from the Program Director or Department Director.
  • For all instruction (regardless of course format) duties include but are not limited to: completing required trainings as mandated by the UC Presidential policies; responding to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner; grading student assignments and posting final student grades to the instructor portal in a timely manner; utilizing University-approved course support platforms including the Canvas Learning Management System, Zoom, Instructor Portal, Google Workspace, etc.; reviewing and following University and departmental policies, logistics, and other guidelines as published on the departmental Instructional Resource Site; and responding to other requests from the Program Director or Department Director in a timely manner.

Understanding and improving how we optimize ads through the ads delivery funnel to Pinners is fundamental to Pinterest's long-term success. We're looking for a data scientist to join our team in pushing the boundaries in ads optimization. You will be a key member of an organization of talented data scientists innovating on ads delivery.



What you'll do:



  • Strategy: Evolve our strategy by working closely with product and engineering leaders to build on past learnings and shape our platform's future.
  • Experimentation: Improve our experimentation capabilities and tools for assessing our ad delivery system, advise on best practices, identify flaws, and build tools and frameworks for experiment analysis.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor peers, improving team output through continuous, candid feedback that recognizes strengths and identifies areas for growth. Be a technical leader for junior data scientists.
  • Communication: Clearly and concisely communicate complex analytical findings and insights to stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed on the latest developments in data science, causal inference, and advertising technology to drive innovation.


What we're looking for:



  • 8+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data
  • Direct involvement in the evaluation, refinement, and deployment of ads optimization models for ads delivery systems.
  • Proficiency in leveraging large datasets for performance analysis and gap identification.
  • Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data
  • Expertise in SQL and Python
  • Strong business and product sense: delight in shaping vague questions into well-defined analyses and success metrics that drive business decisions
  • Excellent communication skills: able to lead initiatives across multiple product areas and communicate findings with leadership and product teams
  • Experience leading key technical projects and substantially influencing the scope and output of others
  • Experience in digital ad delivery stacks preferred


In-Office Requirement Statement:

This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1 times per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices: San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA.

JT Wimsatt serves both public and private sector clients with a range of commercial, industrial, residential, government and specialty construction projects.


We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our San Diego location to provide overall management and assume full responsibility for assigned projects and interface with Client/Owner. Reports to Project Executive. Construction experience is a MUST, with a background in structural concrete highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works as a team with Project Superintendent.
  • Manage assigned Project Engineers
  • Ensures the project is planned and staffed according to the budget
  • Regularly walk job sites to monitor production and constantly implement improvements.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the Project Team to review project data and ensure successful completion
  • Plans overall construction schedule
  • Tracks project as-built schedule
  • Implementation of JTW Project Control Systems.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within company policy.
  • Manage and be responsible for financial aspects of contracts by ensuring that pricing is completed timely and collected timely from client.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of site superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate & resolve risks to profitability.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to field and site superintendents.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with client/owner and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
  • Participate as requested in the marketing, estimating, bidding and contract negotiations phases of assigned projects.
  • Prepares and submits monthly, weekly progress reports and cost reports.
  • Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc. as required.
  • Review and approve all purchases and ensure Purchase Order/Buy Out process is followed.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.


Position Requirements

  • Structural concrete construction experience is a MUST
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or relative field
  • 8+ years or more experience in managing projects
  • Thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems/computer software, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Vista Viewpoint and Primavera software.
  • Periodically travel around Southern California.
