Centerless ground ingots will have any oxidized “skin” removed from the ingot surface.
Spot Grinding: Hand (spot) grinders are used to remove any oxidized “skin” not removed by centerless grinding.
Bottom (“butt”) ends are ground to remove any flashing or mold wash from the ingot surface.
Final Inspection: All ingots are alloy type checked, checked for pipe tolerances, stenciled along their length, rubber stamped on the bottom end and packaged for shipping.
