The Registered Nurse is to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing direct care to residents as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ensure that unit personnel on your shift are carrying out their assignments.
    • Attend nurses and team meetings as scheduled and/or assigned.

    • Report occupational exposures to needlesticks, blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy and procedures governing accidents and incidents.

  • Resident Care Functions:
    • Maintains competence in all required skills within assigned area(s).
    • Treats and ensures that residents are treated with respect and dignity.

    • Contribute toward completing and updating resident's care plans.
    • Evaluate and reports the performances of all personnel working under your supervision and direction.

    • Accurately transcribes physician's/provider's orders as per facility protocol and forwards necessary information to other departments.

Position Description

Physician reports directly to the Chair of Family Medicine and is primarily responsible for the provision of high quality medical/cardiac care to our patients. This staff physician will be located at the Desai Sethi Medical Center location.

This position is 60% clinical, with 6 clinic sessions per week. This distribution of effort may change in future years based on your interests and Departmental needs.

Physicians must also:

  • Provide clinical care in 6 clinical sessions per week.

  • Provide all physician care generally provided at a primary care facility.

  • Document each on site/in office procedure, prescription, consultation and patient contact in patient's chart and on the clinic’s, encounter forms, within a 24-hour period.

  • Counsel patient regarding medical and other problems which might affect patient's health and well-being.

  • Perform such clinical procedures for patient's benefit which are within scope and skill of practitioner/specialist and which are economically feasible.

  • Provide direction and leadership to the clinic's medical support staff, with regard to the administering of a patient's care.

  • Provide supervision in case assignment to nurse practitioner/physician assistant, including sign off on charts, where applicable.

  • Perform other job related duties, as may be assigned, by the Chairman of Family Medicine.

  • Doctoral Degree (MD, DO,), Florida Physician License required.

  • Implement and monitor nutrition care plans and document according to standards of care criteria with reassessments completed within three to five days for moderate risk and within 48 hours for high risk patients, as validated by monthly chart review; collaborates with fellow team members and communicates nutrition care plan when transferred to other units, when other team members are covering or weekend coverage and validated by chart review with the dietitian.
  • Collaborate with and communicate effectively with physicians and members of the multi-disciplinary team to integrate information which refines and contributes to the overall medical care of the patient, with specific emphasis on nutritional care, through daily rounds, as validated by the customer feedback process and monthly chart review.
