We're seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the next generation of Pinterest's big data storage platform. The Fung Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturer positions in Design and Technology Innovation should an opening arise. We seek candidates that have experience to teach a 3-unit fall and/or spring course for undergraduates who have been selected for the Fung Fellowship for Technology Innovations, a one-year program that develops leadership, teaming, storytelling, technology innovation, and human centered design. The Chang Lab, led by PI Serina Chang, is part of the Berkeley EECS Department, the UCSF UC Berkeley Joint Program in Computational Precision Health, the Berkeley AI Research (BAIR) Lab, and the Center for Human-Compatible AI (CHAI).

We are seeking a postdoc to work on projects at the intersection of AI and human behavior, including modeling human behavior with AI, building AI tools to support societal decision-making, and studying the impacts of AI on society. Potential projects include:

Position Summary:

The Village is seeking a highly organized, systems-driven Operations Administrator to oversee the administrative and operational engine of our retreat center. This role ensures guest reservations, provider scheduling, financial workflows, and backend systems run smoothly and consistently. This is a hands-on operations role. The Village provides personalized, concierge-style postnatal care in a boutique hotel setting in San Francisco. Families come to us to rest, recover, and ease into parenthood while supported by trained staff, nourishing meals, therapeutic services, and lactation consultants. Core Responsibilities

• Process new reservations from inquiry through confirmation
• Manage CRM workflows (17hats)
• Send contracts and required forms, track completion
• Confirm guest payments prior to arrival
• Schedule and coordinate welcome calls
• Ensure check-in logistics are coordinated and communicated to the team
• Manage provider scheduling and ensure services are fully executed without gaps.
• Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices and recurring expenses
• Support bookkeeping processes and maintain organized financial documentation
• Oversee inventory tracking and recording processes
• Ensure internal communication via Slack remains organized and effective
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
• Track applicants and maintain hiring spreadsheets
• Ensure hiring documentation is complete prior to start dates

We're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking engineer to strengthen our DevOps capabilities across AWS and Windows/Linux environments. In this role, you'll drive the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure to support our Infrastructure and Application stack. You'll work closely with development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, embed security best practices, and champion infrastructure-as-code. • What You'll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Solid understanding of Windows/Linux Server administration and integration with cloud environments.
• Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform (OpenTofu) and AWS CDK.
• Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience deploying and managing .NET applications in cloud environments.
• Deep understanding of security best practices and their implementation in cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls) in cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., NewRelic, CloudWatch, Cloud Logging, Prometheus).
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with the configuration management tool Chef
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization & orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Relevant AWS and/or GCP certifications are a plus.
• Strong understanding of Powershell and Python Scripting
• Strong background with AWS EC2 features and Services (Autoscaling and WarmPools)
• Understanding of Windows server Build process using tools like Chocolaty for packages and Packer for AMI/Image generation.
