Job Summary
This position provides software quality assurance services for projects and systems. The role is responsible for supporting product validation activities for new and modified applications and ensuring that software products meet defined quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Core Charge RN, and Core Supervisor, the Sterile Processing Technician prepares and delivers medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. The Sterile Processing Technician cleans, packages, and processes surgical equipment and instrumentation, as well as maintains inventory and storage of supplies in the core. The Sterile Processing Technician manages multiple computer applications to assist with sterilization tracking and processes. Responsible to operate and troubleshoot power equipment to process instruments (i.e. autoclaves, washer disinfector, ultrasonic cleaners).
Qualifications
Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire.
A minimum of a two-year commitment is needed for this position.
Additional Qualifications:
Prefer two years of experience in the handling and sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation within the past four years, or vocational certificate as Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant within the last two years. Alternatively, at least two years of experience as a Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within the last five years. Prefer knowledge of medical terminology. Talkiatry is a clinician-led, virtual psychiatry practice built to combine the stability of a hospital practice with the clinical autonomy of private practice.
This role is designed for psychiatrists who want:

Patient Care Type: This unit is designed to provide transitional care for adult and geriatric patients who require mechanical ventilation (invasive through a tracheostomy or non-invasive ventilation) or have complex respiratory care needs requiring complex respiratory monitoring.

Nursing Team Roles: The focus of care is grounded in the primary value of Mayo Clinic, in that the needs of the patient come first. Nursing provides care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and engages the patient and family through participation in structured/scheduled family meetings, to enhance the patient experience and provide a congruent plan of care. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team composed of members from respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, nursing, social work, and nutrition. Providers consist of Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellows, Critical Care Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants, and Critical Care Physicians from the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care.
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.

Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). One year of RN experience required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020, and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
Additional Qualifications:
1 year professional RN experience required
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

License and Certification (Must obtain prior to start date):
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
