Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon - Site Leadership, Clinical Autonomy & Owner-Level Earnings | Greater Seattle
✦ New
Salary not disclosed
Issaquah, WA 4 hours ago

A full-scope OMS group with an established patient base, strong referring relationships, and a proven operational backbone is opening a new location in the greater Seattle area in approximately three months. We're looking for a determined oral and maxillofacial surgeon to anchor and lead it.

This is a site leadership role — not a fill-in associate position. If you want clinical autonomy, compensation tied to your own performance, and the opportunity to shape a practice from the ground up without the personal financial exposure of a cold start, read on.

The Role

You will be the primary surgeon at a new location, supported by the infrastructure, referral pipeline, and operational systems of an established group. The position ramps with the site: starting at 1–2 days per week and building to 4 days per week as volume grows, with a target of full-time occupancy over time. The ramp is structured and supported — not left to chance.

At launch, the office will participate with PPO, HMO, and Medicaid, providing broad access and a strong volume foundation from day one. Payor mix is adjustable over time as demand and case mix develop.

Compensation is collections-based, calibrated to experience, with owner-level earning potential tied directly to site performance. This is intentional — we want our surgeon aligned with the long-term success of the location, not just compensated for showing up.

Clinical Scope

This is genuinely full-scope. Dentoalveolar, implants, pathology, trauma, orthognathic, and anesthesia. We are not looking for a single-focus associate. We are looking for a surgeon who practices the breadth of the specialty and wants the clinical environment to reflect that.

You will have meaningful input into:

  • Workflow and operatory protocols

  • Case mix and referral development strategy

  • Staffing recommendations and clinical structure

  • Payor participation decisions as the site matures

Established systems and experienced oversight are available when useful. They are not imposed.

Infrastructure & Support

Starting a new location is hard. We have handled the parts that aren't surgery:

  • Staffing: Support staff provided; hiring and training assistance for site-specific needs

  • Credentialing: Full payor credentialing support across all participating plans

  • Billing & Revenue Cycle: Complete in-house billing and collections management

  • Compliance: Regulatory infrastructure already in place — OSHA, HIPAA, and DEA compliance covered

  • Facility & Equipment: Fully equipped operatories, ready on day one

  • Patient Flow: Parent office actively supports early volume, overflow emergencies, and warm referral transfers during ramp-up

  • Referral Network: You inherit established relationships with referring dentists and specialists — built over years, available to you immediately

You focus on surgery and growth. We handle the rest.

The Market

Greater Seattle is a high-demand, undersupplied market for oral surgery. General dentists in this region are actively looking for OMS partners they can trust and refer to consistently. The infrastructure is in place. The market timing is right. What this location needs now is the right surgeon.

Who We're Looking For

  • DMD or DDS with completed OMS residency

  • Board certified or board eligible

  • Full-scope clinical experience — comfortable across dentoalveolar, implants, pathology, and trauma

  • Washington state license held or obtainable prior to start

  • Current DEA registration or obtainable

  • MD and/or FACS a plus, not a requirement

  • Collegial, referral-minded — you understand that relationships drive a surgical practice

  • Entrepreneurial in orientation — you see a new location as opportunity, not uncertainty

Group or multi-site experience is helpful but not required. Residents completing training who are ready to step into a leadership role are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Collections-based percentage — commensurate with experience

  • Owner-level earning potential tied to site growth and performance

  • Structured ramp-up to support early-stage volume

  • Malpractice coverage provided

  • Credentialing and licensing assistance

  • Paid time off

  • CME allowance

  • Equity or partnership discussion possible as site matures, based on performance and mutual fit

To Apply

Submit your CV and a brief note about what draws you to this type of opportunity. All inquiries handled promptly and confidentially. We are serious about this search and will respond in kind.

We are building something here. We'd like to find the surgeon who wants to build it with us.
