The Materials Management Coordinator oversees and optimizes supply chain and materials management operations across all hospitals, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role maintains the system Item Master, leads product evaluations, monitors purchasing and inventory accuracy, and collaborates with hospital Materials Management teams to standardize processes and resolve challenges. The position provides training, conducts site visits to ensure adherence to policies, assists with new hospital setups, and partners with Finance and Accounts Payable to address discrepancies and implement system improvements. Through strong leadership and communication, the Coordinator supports operational excellence and ensures reliable delivery of supplies to enhance patient care.

Works within Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) framework to seek the highest quality products within the best available cost structures. Assist with evaluating supplies negotiating contracts and reviewing quality product as assigned. Additionally serves as a GPO vendor and contract resource. This position may also assist with expense reports and contracted service vendors.

Required Skills:

• A minimum of associate degree in business administration, or a healthcare related field required.
• A minimum of five (5) years hospital purchasing experience, contracts, compliance systems and standards required.
• Current, valid, and active driver’s license required.

What You Will Do

• Manage multiple projects and show technical competence in the planning and completion of assigned projects leading to the development and implementation into production of new or revised products without supervision
• Records, collates, evaluates, and interprets experimental data and makes appropriate recommendations to all levels in the organization through written or oral reports.
• Prepare and conduct meeting updates, product cuttings, presentations, shelf-life testing and cost analysis to project team members.
• Effectively organize R&D lab and R&D plant areas.
• Provide necessary technical support to vendors, customers and operations when needed.
• Set up and operate standard lab equipment / techniques

What You Will Bring

• 5 years of experience in pet food industry
• Strong technical knowledge in pet food product development and palatability is required

• BS/M/PhD Food Science, Animal Science or equivalent technical qualifications required

• Computer skills with proficiency to formulate, construct graphs and charts, design presentations and evaluate statistical analysis modules.

This role is not simply about fixing equipment; it is about re-engineering the culture, processes, and systems that underpin our entire operation. The primary objective is to lead a high-performing team in the adoption of Lean and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) to drive world-class uptime and operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Spearhead a cultural shift focused on equipment "ownership" and pride in reliability. Establish clear performance benchmarks and mentor the team to move beyond "firefighting" to high-value technical execution.
• Reliability Strategy: Architect and refine a robust Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) framework. Transition the department toward data-driven maintenance intervals that extend asset life and eliminate catastrophic failures.
• Failure Analysis & Mitigation: Institutionalize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all significant downtime events. Develop and implement permanent engineering or process solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Systems Optimization: Leverage the CMMS as a strategic tool to monitor and improve critical metrics, specifically MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
• Operational Alignment: Collaborate horizontally with Production and Supply Chain to synchronize maintenance cycles with the production master schedule, maximizing OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
• Fiscal Optimization: Optimize the maintenance budget by reducing the "hidden costs" of inefficiency, such as emergency overtime, expedited parts, and lost production capacity.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Management, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience: 7+ years in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role specifically focused on organizational turnaround or process improvement.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of automated systems, PLCs, and mechanical infrastructure, paired with expert-level CMMS management.
• Methodologies: Proven expertise in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma environments.
• Change Management: Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels—from the shop floor to the front office—and the resilience to lead teams through structural and cultural change.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
