Your Role: The Buyer is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components and subassemblies are delivered to the production site to support production needs. This individual must fully understand the companies’ supply chain and production operations, as well as be an expert on their assigned product or commodities. They will deploy inventory strategies, be responsible for product change and associated material planning implications, manage and solve exceptions, and drive supplier execution.   • Execute tactical buying processes used to manage the supply chain to ensure material supply that meets master schedule and customer requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and the commercial teams to ensure effective execution of the manufacturing plan, new product introduction, product phase out, and engineering change.

Key Accountabilities Ability to do standard shop mathematics Ability to read and understand all facets of detailed blueprints Ability to read and understand required measuring equipment such as micrometers, gauges, torque wrenches Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to follow working detail drawings as designed General maintenance of tools and equipment Safety conscious with safety training background Your Profile High School diploma 3 years of experience in a fabrication facility Preferred experience with pressurized equipment and welded vessels Ability to work with little supervision as part of a team Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others regarding technical issues Ability to work with shop, management, and technical personnel Ability to communicate drawing and dimensional issues to staff and employees Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and pc file management PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, lift, push, pull, talk, hear, close and distance vision, depth and peripheral perception; lift up to 50 lbs.
