Job Summary
Responsible for managing the activities of creating, innovating, designing, testing, and overall engineering support of custom design and existing products. Scope of this role spans multiple product categories and engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, motorization, and test engineering. Our client is looking for a full time Sr. Structural Engineer in the NYC area and expertise in bridge rehabilitation analysis and design to lead critical projects in New York.
NYSDOT experience is preferred. Ideal opportunity for a seasoned bridge design
engineer capable of preparing Bridge Rehabilitation Justification Reports (BRJR) and
related Design Documents and developing Preliminary and Final Design plans, leading
rehabilitation design efforts from concept through completion.

Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position:
Under the general supervision of the Director, Engineering and Support Services, assists in directing programs to
manage building maintenance, grounds, and equipment and procurement or generation of utilities and their
distribution systems. Formulates and evaluates programs and projects and supervises functional programming
activities. Ensures ongoing compliance with NYC Health + Hospitals and relevant health care setting policies, and other appropriate regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Directs, coordinates, and maintains control over project assignments and related activities including in-house
construction, renovation, and engineering activities. Follows standard methods and procedures for the
implementation of maintenance systems and operations, construction contracts, and/or capital projects development.
2. Assists in the direction of trade staff through the development processes and procedures for the
implementation of maintenance operations, construction contracts, and capital projects. Assists the Director in
identifying staffing needs to support service delivery.
3. Prepares reports, develops and prepares engineering management audits, studies and surveys for the Director,
and/or other senior management, detailing proposed new programs, statistical studies, and health care setting
planning.
4. Assists in the collection of data and preparation of reports that outline the scope and estimated cost of projects
proposed, implemented and developed. Organizes staff meetings, reviews capital and expense budget submissions and provides recommendations regarding proposed projects and programs. May represent the Director in budget
meetings.
5. Plans and implements programs to establish performance standards to achieve increased productivity and
accountability of trade staff. Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures.
6. Provides departmental orientation, training and guidance to staff. Conducts in-service training programs, continually assessing staff training needs; suggests changes to Director to provide more efficient operations.
7. Coordinates efforts and cooperates with departmental leadership on matters of mutual concern and extends
functional guidance and assistance. Meets with health care setting clients and staff to plan, prioritize, coordinate
and/or communicate programs and policies, as needed.
8. May provide consultative services to senior leadership or liaise with Federal, State, and City agencies on matters pertaining to engineering, construction, design projects and/or other engineering support programs and functions.
9. In the Director’s absence, may represent the System in certain legal matters dealing with State, City, and Federal agencies.
10. Performs other related duties, as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or a related discipline; and two (2) years of responsible-level experience in project, facilities or construction management, capital project planning, development, and design or other related experience in a hospital or health care setting; or
- High school diploma or its educational equivalent, approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization; and six (6) years of experience, as described in 1 above.
Special Note: Valid license and current registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) or a related Master’s Degree can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Summary
Our client, a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager. The Electrical PM will have expertise in electrical systems including electrical distributed power generation, feeds, distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, UPS, and low voltage systems. The PE is responsible for overseeing the engineering of these systems for major capital projects and initiatives from conceptualization through programming, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close out.
The Electrical PM will be responsible for multiple high-complexity projects of diverse scope that require an understanding of state of the art construction techniques and a high level of expertise in electrical systems, as well as rigor in compliance, and the highest standard of care. Science projects include research laboratories, vivarium, pilot scale manufacturing, major scientific equipment, amenity space, outdoor plaza, site lighting, and infrastructure projects.
The Electrical PM shall collaborate with the project team to effectively identify innovative solutions and bring clarity to the project process using a sophisticated analytical approach and sound judgement. Core focus areas include defining and meeting project goals for electrical systems, reviewing budgets, schedules, scopes, and quality, as well as risk mitigation and responding to field conditions and construction logistics and challenges.
The Electrical PM will be responsible to lead design teams and Construction Managers in both the pre-construction due diligence, design and scoping process with a focus on quality management, project controls, and user engagement as well as leading their teams through the bidding and construction administration process with a focus on field coordination, commissioning, substantial completion and close out.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Project Management team in developing the budget and schedule for design and construction projects, including renovations and green field projects.
- Works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Space Planning, EHS, Operations, and User teams to fully and rigorously document the electrical system requirements in the Owner's Project Requirements document.
- Performs preliminary due diligence explorations of existing electrical systems during project initiation to identify any potential risks to the project and any opportunities for improving the building systems of existing buildings.
- Assists the Project Manager and Procurement in the development of scopes of work for design professionals, construction managers, general contractors and commissioning agent RFPs. Assist in the evaluation and bid leveling of proposals.
- Participates in regular project meetings.
- Works directly with hired MEP engineers, consultants, and contractors to answer questions, resolve issues and develop solutions.
- Provides supervision for all stages of the development and documentation of electrical requirements for lab and other equipment for the project. Collaborates with the Project Management team, internal engineers, end users, the Asset Management team, EHS, design professionals, lab equipment vendors, design professionals and contractors to ensure that all electrical system requirements for the equipment are met.
- Provides detailed reviews of and comments on due diligence reports, test fits, Basis of Design documents, room data sheets, construction documents and specifications prepared by the design professionals, checking for thoroughness, accuracy and compliance with the project requirements, design and documentation standards and minimize errors and omissions.
- Identifies long lead time equipment for potential Early Works purchasing by the contractor

- Reviews shop drawings and submittals, RFI responses, and Change Orders
- Makes frequent site visits to ensure that electrical requirements are being implemented correctly during construction and creates field reports.

- Assists the Asset Management and Operations team in preparing equipment lists for import into the Integrated Workplace Management System

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in the creation of detailed shop drawings, fabrication models, and as-built documentation. The role focuses on translating engineering design intent into precise, constructible shop drawings and high-quality 3D models using advanced CAD/BIM software. This position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between conceptual/structural design and field fabrication/installation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient construction.
The ideal candidate has strong technical drafting and modeling skills, attention to detail, and experience producing shop drawings for fabrication and erection in structural steel, concrete, mechanical systems, or similar domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed shop drawings (including plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and bills of materials) from engineering sketches, design drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Create, maintain, and update accurate 3D models (BIM or parametric models) using software such as Revit, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
