We're seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the next generation of Pinterest's big data storage platform. You'll grow and guide a team working with cutting-edge open source technologies-especially Apache Iceberg-operating at exabyte scale to power the data that helps Pinners discover and do what they love.

The Fung Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturer positions in Design and Technology Innovation should an opening arise. We seek candidates that have experience to teach a 3-unit fall and/or spring course for undergraduates who have been selected for the Fung Fellowship for Technology Innovations, a one-year program that develops leadership, teaming, storytelling, technology innovation, and human centered design. This lecturer pool has been generated in case of need for teaching for two courses: (1) Health + Tech Innovations course and (2) Conservation + Tech Innovations course. The Chang Lab, led by PI Serina Chang, is part of the Berkeley EECS Department, the UCSF UC Berkeley Joint Program in Computational Precision Health, the Berkeley AI Research (BAIR) Lab, and the Center for Human-Compatible AI (CHAI).

We are seeking a postdoc to work on projects at the intersection of AI and human behavior, including modeling human behavior with AI, building AI tools to support societal decision-making, and studying the impacts of AI on society. Potential projects include:

1. 
   
2. Developing AI models of individuals that can accurately simulate complex behaviors across modalities, supported by rich, individual-level data including mobility trajectories, surveys, in-depth interviews, and health behaviors and outcomes.
   
3. Scaling simulations to entire societies with millions of agents, developing robust validation of societal simulations, and applying societal simulations to inform decisions in high-stakes domains (e.g., public health, emergency response).

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering & Technical Support

Field Support

• Support resolution of field issues through collaboration with designers and specialty subcontractors.

Safety & Compliance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking Construction Inspectors that have the drive and integrity to work with clients and vendors. Previous inspection experience is needed in this role.

PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform as an entry to lead inspector on various projects responsible for the inspection and documentation of construction in the areas of building code compliance, concrete, pre-stress concrete, shotcrete, masonry, steel, fireproofing, waterproofing, and roofing. Ability to properly interpret construction documents and prepare well-written and concise reports capturing all necessary elements is required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Entry or senior level Special Inspector with current certifications by the International Code Council, American Welding Society, and American Concrete Institute.
