Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop, evaluate, and design plant projects and modifications that improve efficiency, reliability, and safety. You will manage capital projects end-to-end, from budgeting and scheduling to supervising contractors and internal teams, while ensuring compliance with environmental and mechanical integrity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development, design, and execution of mechanical projects.
- Provide technical support and consulting for plant operations and maintenance.
- Supervise peers, contractors, and project teams.
- Propose and implement new procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and process monitoring tools.
- Interface with safety, environmental, operations, maintenance, accounting, and purchasing teams.
- Manage vendor and consultant relationships and coordinate project bids.
- Conduct field supervision and inspections of critical equipment.
- Participate in equipment inspections, process safety reviews, hazard analysis, and facility turnarounds.
- Ensure timely review of drawings and Management of Change Orders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years in engineering, preferably in oil, gas, or chemical industries.
- Proven experience leading technical or project teams.
- Experience with capital and operating cost estimating and economic analysis.
- Knowledge of mechanical integrity programs.
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
