Job Summary
Entry level engineer/project construction administration providing support to the Capital Improvements Project Team. Assists experienced engineers/coordinators in developing project criteria, studies, plans, specifications, providing calculations, tracking budgets, reviewing construction documentation, and communication related to City Capital Projects.
Principal Accountabilities
Entry level non-supervisory engineer/construction administration. Reports to the Capital Projects Supervisor for coordinated work with experienced engineers and coordinators. Accountable for the follow tasks:
- Assists in various phases of City Capital Improvement Project work including contract administration, project management documentation, public outreach and accounting.
- Supports dissemination of project information to other City Groups and Divisions.
- Aids in the recording of construction records documentation.
Essential Functions
- Supports dissemination of project information by preparation of exhibits.
- Helps gather stakeholder requirements for technical specifications to promote quality assurance.
- Performs field reconnaissance when/as required.
- Assists staff in the review of construction documents including plans, specification and construction management documents through all stages of Public Works projects.
- Works with experienced engineers/coordinators and other staff to coordinate and document field changes.
- Maintains knowledge of current construction codes and changes in industry standards related to construction material and procedure developments.
- Aids in the preparation of project status reports for proper coordination and scheduling of projects.
- Assists with final acceptance report upon project completion.
Peripheral Duties
- Coordinates field activities of City projects with private and public utilities within Kirkland.
- Works with Maintenance and Operations on engineering issues.
- Reviews traffic control plans with the Traffic Engineer.
- Responds to public inquiries or complaints relating to construction activities, standards, administrative procedures, and requested improvements.
- Provides public counter and back-up telephone coverage. Provides information regarding the policy of the City in response to inquiries.
- Assists in maintaining and updating Kirkland Pre-Approved Plans for the Public Works Department.
- Conducts field inspection on an as needed basis to assist inspection staff when workload or absences dictate.
- Maintaining the CIP Group's Lessons Learned file.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
In the event of a civic or civil emergency, position will provide assistance as determined by the City's emergency operations program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must possess effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with staff, the public and general contractors in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Must have proficient research and documentation skills.

Compensation Counts:

We are seeking an experienced Knit Programmer to join our R&D team focused on next-generation wearable technologies. This is a highly specialized, hands-on role requiring deep expertise in machine knitting, sample development, and prototype fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate Shima Seiki knitting machines to develop samples and functional prototypes for wearable devices.
- Produce a range of outputs—from coupon-level test samples to fully integrated knit prototypes.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all programmed runs, including machine settings, yarn specs, and outcomes.

Job SummaryThe Capital Projects Coordinator is considered a journey level classification and performs engineering, architecture, construction management and/or project management responsibilities. This professional level position plans, budgets, and schedules all aspects of the parks, facilities, utilities and transportation capital improvements, as well as other City Funded/sponsored projects of basic to mid-level complexity. The position administers consultant contracts; coordinates design reviews, environmental reviews, coordinates property and permit acquisitions; coordinates building and contract awards; monitors construction contract progress and ensures proper project closeouts.

Description:
Performs a variety of equipment operating and kitting duties such as assembling, filling, cleaning, inspecting, labeling, packaging, etc. to make and process products to meet high quality specifications following prescribed procedures. Working from verbal and written instructions. May use a variety of equipment including, scales, bottle filler, Peristaltic/Digistaltic pumps, sealers, torquer and other related supplies. May use measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specified tolerance. Makes supervisor aware of quality issues and taking corrective action where possible. Works under general supervision, with instruction given for routine work and detailed instructions for new types of work or special projects. Requires basic knowledge of how the team is organized and how own tasks relate to the others in the team/ unit. Impacts team performance through reliability and accuracy of own work.
Qualification Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to read, follow and understand operating procedures
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Capable of doing basic math and counting to large numbers without error
- Willingness to learn multiple production operations and adjust quickly to new tasks
- Needs to be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally to report production information
- Capable of working a full shift at a designated operation within the assigned manufacturing area
- Sufficient computer related skills to perform data entry and print reports
- Works under close supervision at first and demonstrates the potential to work with less supervision over time.

REPORTS TO: Production Superintendent
PAY RANGE: $25.00 - $35.00/hourly DOE
SUMMARY
The Aluminum Structural Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks on aluminum materials using the GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) process in all positions. This role also includes handling miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
- Prioritize safety and adhere to quality standards during all aluminum welding operations.
- Configure welding machines according to job requirements or Welding Procedure Specifications for GTAW aluminum welding.
- Utilize personal basic tools and equipment for welding tasks if not provided by the workplace.
- Perform aluminum welding based on the required GTAW process and parameters.
- Strictly follow welding procedure specifications for GTAW aluminum welding.
- Prepare and set up welding cells for serial production runs of aluminum components.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas while ensuring proper care of equipment and facilities.
- Adhere to all company policies and rules.
- Demonstrate keen attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Assist in preparing aluminum products for shipment.
- Report any hazardous work conditions or practices to the supervisor.
- Capable of manually lifting raw materials, final products, and packed aluminum items for shipment, weighing up to 60 pounds or using a hoist.

- Familiarity with the metric system.
- Capable of standing continuously for extended periods.
- Willingness to work for 40+ hours per week.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate or GED
- Six months to one-year of relevant experience and/or training in aluminum welding.
- Prior experience with aluminum GTAW welding is essential.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work environment involves exposure to various weather conditions, work in confined spaces or heights, prolonged standing and physical exertion as well as frequent bending, stooping and reaching. Noise levels may be moderate to high and may work in close contact with other team members.
